I don't know about "on the outs". Can't give up on the guy. I would not be surprised if they moved him around a little after two back to back like that. Let him have a good 7th inning or something before calling on him in the 9th inning again. Ya' gotta' think the pressure of trying to right the previous performance got to him a little and helped produce this performance. Farrell does not strike me as the kind of guy that will just move a pitcher around without talking to him. If he does move him I suspect Farrell will tell him why and what his expectations would be for a return to closing.

I suspect there "won't" be a Hanrahan presser after this one. Today's fiasco was more of "sit down...shut up...don't ruin any of the good feeling".

Hard to tell for sure but I think Ells had that base stolen. Maybe a perfect throw would have gotten him...Maybe. While the Catcher did commit the error, I would not be looking forward to Escobar's play at SS if I were Madden. Escobar makes Cano look like a hard working infielder.

They properly changed that call to E-Catcher but the only time Escobar appears to hustle is when somebody rings the dinner bell. That was still a lazy play on his part and the second play he has loped through today.

I am always hoping that thumb does not cause him any issues at the plate when Pedey dings it. However, I think our past experience is that it gets tough on Pedey at the plate once that thing is throbbing. Hope it goes back to no pain for him soon.

Come on Sox. Need a lead runner. Gotta' at least get this thing tied and then try to win it. This is in part why the Rays are frustrating. They may not all pitch like this but they tend to hold down the score and nick our guys for a run here or there.

Now that was an impressive stat. Lester has gotten the first hitter of the inning out in 15 of the 17 innings he has pitched.

He is getting too much plate this inning also. Got out of it with only one run scored though.

There is no way to know if a ball hit like that is going to stick in that corner. Normally it will bounce out. If Nava did not play for it to bounce out it would have gone right past him and the hitter would have had second at least. Rays are so frustrating to play against. Even when you have a pitcher's dual, they sneak up on you, put a couple hits together and just like that, they have a lead. I am getting to the point where I have a reason to hate just about every AL East team.
