  1. Its either been Verdugo or Arroyo from the beginning till now. I am not convinced of Arroyo's durability but Santana should never have been anywhere near lead off and Marwin is not a lead off hitter either. Hernandez is not reliable.
  2. We obviously have enough hitting.
  3. The question in a game thread of a few weeks ago was "would we trade JD for a front line pitcher". If it truly was a front line pitcher, I would make that deal. We can't pitch and can't field and JD is not a fielding asset. I would make that deal though a few weeks ago I was afraid of taking JD out of this batting order. No longer....We can't pitch and we can't field. I would take a front line pitcher for JD.
  4. Its not the first 5 in the Sox batting order. Its these two guys....Xander and Rafi. What a pair.
  5. To think there are still 3 more innings to go. Maybe they should treat all games like double headers.....seven inning games. I am not convinced that ML teams can any longer hold up for 162 nine inning games. Squirrels find nuts more than the umps find correct ball/strike calls. They can't pitch. They can't field. Some of them can hit but only some of them and I am not sure MLB administration would not f*** up a wet dream. But all is not lost. The computers are always on.
  6. And the lights go out in the park. Has this not been the least professional season of MLB EVER, at every level? I mean for God sake.
  7. Oh my god what a bad strike call. Why wasn't that one a strike too ump. Vaz caught it. Must be a strike Ball 5 and the BB
  8. I have seen more make up calls on pitches this year so far than I am used to seeing in a full season of baseball and there is NOTHING I hate worse than make up calls. I hate them worse than the first missed call.
  9. I forgot to add to my list of s*** that boils my ass that the umpiring now REEKS.....REEKS....worse than ever. Its like all of this crap about better umpiring, better training, better prep is just a fraud. They suck.
  10. This is probably the reason why teams like the Astros will be tough to beat by the end of the season. They don't beat themselves. Neither of these two teams playing tonight can field worth a lick. Come next week they likely won't be able to pitch worth a lick. If you can't field and you can't pitch can you actually score enough to overcome both?
  11. Notice Richards won't even throw the curve tonight after featuring a great curve earlier in the season. I would bet he won't be alone though. The scary part is that ML pitching already sucks these days. Lord only knows what it will look like for the rest of the season.
  12. Wild thing....you make my heart sing.....you need your spydertack baby.....wild thing
  13. I don't think Arroyo is a very durable player which is why I do not favor him at lead off. He may well be hurt.....AGAIN
  14. I can say that what does not surprise me is how rare it is for a pitcher to be able to shake off what happened to Anderson in the first in that same inning. I never ever thought I could or wanted to pitch. If I had been a pitcher they would have had to have called time out and let me go down the tunnel to the clubhouse and beat a bunch of s*** up before making me throw another pitch. Everybody would have had to just wait for me to come back out of the tunnel. Either that or I would likely have hit the next three batters AT LEAST!
  15. The degree that analytics has now taken over every aspect of a game NOT PLAYED ON A COMPUTER is the worst of it IMO. But not far behind are: - allowing pitchers to use stuff to "get a better grip on the ball" because they can't pitch inside any longer and batters wanted them to have better control, then calling stuff too grippy "cheating" boils my ass as well - rocket ship baseballs and then claiming to fall back to some less rockety rocket ship boils my ass - two game series boil my ass - absurd rules boil my ass - f***ing trash can beating boils my ass - 14 pitchers hardly any of them that can pitch a lick and no bench strength in everyday players boils my ass About the only thing that does not boil my ass lately is: AAAAAAAAND THE YANKEES LOSE, THE YANKEES LOSE
  16. Just too much....just too much. I am sorry, but anybody that thinks MLB is a better game since all of this nonsense started needs his head examined.
  17. You catchers check your arm bands and you pitchers check the card in your hats and see if you can keep from f***ing each other up.
  18. Catcher is going to cost Anderson big time right here.
  19. I have noticed that if you can throw AT ALL you are a commodity in contemporary MLB.
  20. Bats, bats, bats....no bats no wins for the Sox. No 3 runs in the 8th tonight, no win tonight either. Of course the Sox PR machine is lauding Nate's effort the other night completely forgetting that NOBODY for either team hit that night. I would suggest this team has a serious pitching problem, one for which I don't think there is a 2021 solution on the horizon. The error bug won't leave this team either.
  21. Nate really does like pitching in the inclement weather. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I don't think I have ever seen Nate pitch in sleeves of any sort regardless of the weather.
  22. Really surprised they had Jr trying to steal the other day. My heart would have been in my mouth if I were a Jays fan. THAT did not look kool.
  23. Biggio has a ways to go to be reminiscent of his dad.
  24. Hey its 0-0 after one. Progress!!!
