  1. Whats the matter with you guys. You left the game thread to ME!!! Probably none of you want a Richards game.
  2. Neither Gosselin nor Rengifo found the wall first which you basically learn in High School. In Rengifo's case it would have helped him with the sun since you have to turn your body to find the wall with one hand. The ball would not have been just hanging in the sun at its apex which is in fact a terrible feeling. If it hangs in the sun at apex you simply don't know where it's going. Finding it when it comes out of sun is mostly luck when it hangs in the sun at apex.
  3. Heaney up to 96 pitches...losing it
  4. Good time for JD to bang one over the wall
  5. Vaz is developing Panda Ass. Did you see that thing on slo-mo on his way to second base?
  6. finally. Heaney starting to give it up.
  7. The 0-0 to JD was the worst pitch Heaney has thrown in this game and even that was not terrible. JD just didn't get it.
  8. Heaney is really pissing me off.
  9. No question but that good pitches can get hit also. ERod has got to make more good pitches. Heck to this point Heaney is out-pitching him as Heaney's locations have to this point been almost flawless...... Junker supreme.
  10. This is just the kind of pitcher that gives us fits.
  11. Too many pitches so far today in that ugly zone from the top of the thigh to about 3" above the belt. You pitch there and even inside or outside, hitters will get some wood to the baseball and hit a bleeder at least. Worse, if you throw in that box I described and get it over the plate.....prepare to look over the fence for the ball. That pitcher's danger zone box can be a little lower for LH hitters and the few RH hitters that like to drop the head on the ball, like JD.
  12. I do think we are seeing way more familiar breaking stuff from pitchers since MLB cracked the whip. ERod's pitches never looked much different. So he might not have been using anything. But across baseball, the way breaking pitches were breaking aided by better tacky stuff (Spydertac) was something I had not seen before in all my years with baseball. Guys known for great breaking pitches were suddenly throwing ungodly breaking pitches. Guys with good breaking pitches were suddenly throwing great breaking pitches. Even guys with "meh" breaking stuff were suddenly throwing decent. You could see it from game 1, pitch 1. I don't blame the pitchers. I blame MLB for allowing them to use tacky stuff for a number of years before the ultimate in tacky stuff became available.
  13. Well you are all more right than Ellis Burks. He is trying to make the case that ERod "is beating them". No he's not Ellis. No he's not. Just to not be contradictory, I have said from day 1 that I thought ERod simply needed more time to recover and be something close to ERod again and he does appear to be on a path to being ERod again. So I have no complaints really. But No Ellis, ERod is not at the moment beating them.
  14. Well here we are folks...same bat time....same bat station. I wanted to make something of a retraction. I said a few weeks ago that I welcomed the combo of Ellis Burks with Jerry or Eck and Dave in the Sox NESN booth. I take that back. Ellis has worn me out. I have no idea what the hell the guy is talking about.
  15. Good win in a park that is just not a place most teams would want to play in. I suspect that given a choice, they would prefer the dungeon in Tampa.
  16. "All-star" closer does not seem to be the distinction it used to be.
  17. See that hitter's background? That might just be the worst hitter's background in MLB.
  18. Correct...he REALLY had a level compact powerful swing from an upright position with a short stride and looked for pitch location with less than two strikes.
  19. I have noticed that Vaz has adopted the Panda diet, gaining weight during the season. Must like those road restaurants.
  20. Kemp picks then to find his glove.
  21. Good spot for Rafi
  22. What are you looking for Brown...a Curveball you can't hit anyway?
  23. I am sure Chavis can't do it on command but if there is one park in baseball I would want to level out my swing in, its this one. A shame X needed the day off. He and Rafi have the most level, on plane swings on this team. Henhandez has a pretty level swing.
  24. If Chavis never stops upper-cutting, he is NEVER going to be a better hitter.
