    Perhaps the lesson for those that had not learned it is that "won X number of games with everyday player Z" is not a relevant stat....I am not even sure it is a stat period, relevant or otherwise.

    Lackey worked there but I still did not like that move. Unnecessary for one thing. Lackey had his starters hat on meaning he was going to keep picking at that outside corner. Can't afford to do that out of the pen. If the ump is not going to give you that strike right now it is not like you can build an effort in hopes that you will get that strike two innings from now. There is no two innings from now. Farrell is just all over the map

    I would normally hate Ortiz being out of the game especially with two outs in the inning but this run is huge

    Well I guess the story is that Lackey will be using this as his two day session. So it should mean it does not have any impact on a next start and I guess if the number of pitches thrown is under control, that would be the case. These would all be high leverage pitches for sure.

    I so want that run back. Six outs might seem doable without much trouble but Taz is already in.

    You can see it in his face though...Bres is done...he does not want to be out there. He is not going to tell anybody that but he does not want to be on that mound....there is no success to be achieved when that is what is going on in the guys head.

    Rare that you can give a guy as much advance notice and as much time to get warm as Felix has gotten tonight. That has been Felix relief issue. He cannot get ready that quickly and really does not like the "just be ready" sort of approach to pitching. By his own admission, just does not do well with it under the normal relief kinds of situations. If Felix had actually started a game with two solid innings like this I think we would have been tickled.

    For f*** sake...I am just so frustrated with the way we have been pinch hitting....another guy comes in cold off the bench...hacks at the first pitch and is gone...Is Carp not watching??? How many opportunities to score is this team generating? Not to damned many. I think Buch deserves a ton of credit here. That was one hell of a performance from him under extreme duress. How are most of the rest of these f***s performing under duress?

    Wow.....I would love to see the scouting reports on the Sox. They have been made to look pretty feeble throughout this post season since going to Tampa. Seems to me that MLB has decided to just throw strikes at these guys and let the cards fall where they may. So far we have not been able to hit our way out of a paper bag. It it were not for a decent number of walks, friends would have to send the Sox photos of a base to remind them of what one looks like.
