  1. Maybe video of Cora WITH DD! That would do it.
  2. I should take the opportunity to just elaborate a little on my Jones comment. Ballplayers simply don't seem to be as situation aware as they used to be. Jones is a legit solid very good ballplayer. Yet there were two outs. So Jones would have been off to the races on any contact to anywhere. So why would he be that far off 2nd base?
  3. Jones must have been a long way off 2nd and leaning I guess
  4. JBJ is just too stubborn to help himself or accept help from anybody else for that matter and this treat him with kid gloves thing worries me. Next step if it were me...sit him down and force him to watch all those ugly AB's from 2014 so he reminds himself of what his stubbornness got for him then. Honestly I am not kidding. I would absolutely do that because I would not feel like I had a choice.
  5. Eck is acting like they are not throwing everything past JBJ no matter what the pitch or what the location. They are. Its just that he is so helpless at the plate now that they are just not even challenged by JBJ. Just throwing FB's right past his bat. Its a victory when his bat touches one of those and he should be totally prepared for pitchers just throwing FB's to him. God help him the next time somebody throws any sort of breaking pitch. He will probably break a leg just swinging at it.
  6. Surprised Hanley didn't take a hack at the 0-1 regardless of Beni running. That was a meatball for Hanley.
  7. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 3. Hanley Ramirez ® 1B 4. J.D. Martinez ® DH 5. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 6. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 7. Eduardo Nunez ® 2B 8. Sandy Leon (S) C 9. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF
  8. Pom always held the possibility of a career with a sharp peak followed by a sharp decline and a slow painful end. We got a part of the peak but I fear we might be in for much more of the sharp decline and slow painful end. His go to game plan for getting outs was always somewhat precarious for a starter. But unless a medical eval shows some additional deterioration somewhere I for one am adamant that he get one more start anyway because his four seam FB has bottomed out. It was getting worse week by week until his last start where it was as bad as it was the week before but not worse. If there is no additional medical deterioration that can be verified he has to get one more start. If he is still mucking about on that one more start, then the chance that he has to just give up his rotation spot becomes more likely IMO.
  9. Yikes....Mookie a little anxious on strike 2
  10. Brain trust has got some brain trustin' to do this weekend.
  11. Good, at 28 years old there is no time for another 2014 with JBJ. Gonna' be some interesting discussions in that manager's office next few days I would wager.
  12. I would not be letting go the anchor chain letting the anchor go straight through the keel just yet. But some issues that have been festering have gotten full blown exposed now and they are going to have to look at them honestly and decide what to do.
  13. Pure conjecture on my part but I would bet real money that they approached JBJ as delicately as they thought necessary as a new coaching staff with a player that is struggling and this is what they got!!! Classic JBJ
  14. I hate to say it but they are right back to where they were in 2014 with JBJ....allowing him to just prove to himself that he simply cannot work his way out of this. So does that mean we go though another 500 useless AB's again this year before we pull another intervention? He is in a bad place and the Sox seem to have unwittingly put themselves in a bad place with him.
  15. Sort of abused vaz too. To be expected at this point I think. That pitch would have hit me right in the mug...just straight in the face. I wouldn't have touched it.
  16. Based on Pom's FB finally bottoming out, maybe he gets one more start because they will be kicking themselves something fierce if in fact it has bottomed out and is finally on the way back. But that is it! One more start and if its no better, time for a new plan.
  17. If I had to guess, the Sox were planning that Pom's arm would get stronger, FB would get better and if anything it has gone the other way. They have to figure this out. Just sending him back out there in his rotation spot does not appear to be working.
  18. I am still not convinced they are doing the right thing with Pom. Took Eck getting in the booth to say the same thing we have been saying for three starts. Pom is afraid to throw that four seam for a strike and you just cannot pitch that way, not for long. At least to my eyes his FB has not gotten worse. It appears to have finally bottomed out.
  19. If JBJ gives us another AB like the last one sandwiched around that throw I think we can officially say that his traditional stubbornness about his swing has set in. That was not even an effort in his first AB and overthrowing the cutoff man is a cardinal sin for an OF of his caliber. Something is going on with him I fear. They tried to help him...maybe did not realize how delicate the situation is with him and he may be reacting badly.
  20. Cobb didn't even appear challenged by JBJ. Three BP pitches turned into, Good morning, Good afternoon and Goodnight.
  21. We need to score some runs. Some one of these O's is gonna' lose one of these FB's
  22. Base running has gotten worse it appears. It certainly has not gotten any better and that is hard to believe.
  23. Beni hitting much better lately. But I don't think I have ever seen a LH hitter wiffle more balls off his bat than Beni does.
  24. Not a bad throw from Jones.
