    Just checked Baltimore weather radar. If the umps are willing to hang out for about an hour, they could be back out there playing.

    Can't say I was ever really thrilled with Renfroe. For all the ohhhh and ahhhhh about his arm, he airmailed throws a good deal and his glove hand was not that sporty. But I would have thought JBJ would have been a "been there done that" for the Sox.

    The funniest thing about the Sox taking JBJ is that they had to say to themselves, "we know what we are getting with JBJ" and they took him anyway!!!!

    I am not sure Mother Nature is doing us any favors here. Could be just extending the misery.

    This will be low outside slider which Story will flail at of course. Lyles brain farts and still gets Story.

    They are pretty much all struggling at this point. Mentioned the other night that as a team the Sox do not hit breaking balls that good. Devers does and Bogey does. Hernandez when on a hot streak hits everything. The rest of them....meh. Does not prevent them from flailing away at them. Lots of breaking balls being thrown this year from what I can see, especially when pitchers face the Sox.

    See that play Espinol just made. Story would just as likely have tripped over his cleats and spiked the throw right into the ground.

    Well coming from Colorado we would have had to expect a power outage. But as for the rest of his hitting, maybe he is carrying his anemic 2nd base play to the batter's box. He is as uncomfortable at 2nd base as anybody I have ever seen. Maybe he will get better at 2nd over the course of the season. He can hardly get worse. He makes some reaction plays. But anything he has to think about is a disaster waiting to happen.

    I don't. But I do not believe he serves this year's Sox team well by starting and relieving and closing. IMO, he should not start this year...not because he can't but because he can help the Sox so much more elsewhere......AND.....they need the help.

    Some of our posts deserve to die an hour after the end of the game. Heck, some of mine deserve to die about 10 seconds after I post.

    At least with Bobby D up in that situation we can just resign ourselves to getting on with the rest of the game.

    Well Venables in game stuff is flat awful IMO. I was tempted to post up "please take out Robles" instead of letting him pitch to Kiermaier the other night. Leaving Robles in seemed such an obvious bad decision. But paying attention to my own self imposed rule, which I am breaking today, I was not posting in game threads when I had not been able to commit to watching the entire game.

    Eck discussing this year's abortion of a ML baseball. I have been critical of this whole messing with the baseballs thing since 2015. I actually think MSB literally does not know what it is doing. Has changed the baseball so many times over such a short time span that they simply have lost track of where they were, where they are and where they are going.

    At this point I think its time to realize that on occasion Cora lets his inner Belichick eat. You just have to know that Cora knows his days off thing for players just drives us right up the wall.

    Can't really trust those guys coming from Colorado. Gonna' be from Missouri on Story. He seems uncomfortable at 2nd also. Then can they make a go of it with Daubac at 1st....seems to be a butcher with the glove and doing nothing at the plate, a declining Vaz, sort of a lame in RF as JBJ can't hit and Arroyo is iffy IMO. Hernandez will hit eventually. JD should be fine a DH. Verdugo is fine. Rafi is the star of this show. Bogey will hit but his fielding is in decline. He has worked his way down to an average fielding SS at best IMO. Shapes up as a so-so team in a tough division from what I can tell. Pitching from the staff as a whole will likely have to surprise us for this team to really do anything this year. Pitchers are throwing lots of breaking stuff this year and while it is not the insane breaking stuff of the super tack year, Sox really need to see more FB's I think.

    Vaz looks dangerous with the audio pitch calling thingy. I predict he gets crossed up and beaned before the game is over. I know I have not posting much since the start of the season. Been here most nights. Don't feel justified in posting if I am switching back and forth between a Celtics game and the Sox. Plus I am not as yet ready to let loose with my special brand of Sox Morbidity. But its coming......its coming.
