  1. And here we come.....against the bullpen....what else is new
  2. Mookie will be on the IL before he ever batts lower than the 2 hole. Sox PR department would protest. Alex would have no choice but to bow to their wisdom.
  3. Oh good...Betts, Rafi, X Maybe we can manage to squeeze out a run ehhhhhhh....ehhhhhh....ohhhhhh.....plop .....ahhhhhhhhh
  4. Just unreal. 2 earned over 6 innings brings Lopez's ERA DOWN. I could take it if he was a junker because we don't hit breaking stuff worth s***. This guy, we should have crushed.
  5. Well there goes the one Sox hitter that SHOULD NOT have been able to do anything with Lopez. The rest of them should be pounding him silly.
  6. JD fights off a 0-0 FB in his kitchen....WHY????
  7. I can not believe we only have 3 runs off Lopez and one a gift so far. We should be pounding him senseless. Its not like he is pitching over his head either. He is pitching EXACTLY as he should be expected to pitch.
  8. Shocked JD didn't turn that AB into a hit and I am not saying that sarcastically.
  9. Lopez can't get away with 97 where he is throwing it
  10. The way the ball is carrying to LF today I thought it was gone.
  11. Sale is not a pitch to contact pitcher. If they are even getting contact, that is not Sale-like
  12. Oh for f*** sake! Notice where the ump set up that time?
  13. Might end up watchful if the ump sticks that chicken wing out there again.
  14. Eck has a point there and not just bullpen "mound" to the actual mound on the field. Just for fun I used to go out to the pitcher's mound when we were away from our home park and I never found a single mound that was like our mound or that was really the same as all the other mounds we visited as it relates to the rubber, the angle of the surface of the mound, the landing spot...NONE OF IT even though there are general specs for mound height etc. i wasn't a pitcher and I came away thinking "boy, I would have trouble with this s***". I would ask our pitchers how the f*** they dealt with that. The only answer I ever got was "its not like there is a choice".
  15. If a pitcher has good breaking stuff he can chew the Red Sox up. If not, he just does not really have much of a chance. Lopez is a perfect punching bag for the Sox. Just get it done Sale.
  16. Lopez will not last long. Simply does not have the right ammo to deal with the Sox. FB, s*** Change, So-so Slider....desperate Curve ball. Way FB dependent. Sale just has to stop s***ing himself.
  17. Sox down 3-0. WS down Moncado and Anderson. I still like our chances with Lopez going for the WS. But Sale can't just puddle along like this.
  18. Well there goes the no hitter. Don't have to worry about that.
  19. Lopez is a FB pitcher and since the Sox are without question a FB hitting team, he should not be a mystery to our hitters. Should be a good day for the offense.
  20. Though I think there is a possibility that Beni is banged up, I think our boy Alex is sliding into Farrellisms. We are going to "protect" David Price. Beni is "banged up". Ah...... fond memories of those Farrellisms. Then again, I don't have fond memories of that walking Port-o-potty walking out to the mound for pitching changes. Cora can't duplicate any of that on a bet.
  21. 1. Leury Garcia (S) SS 2. Yoan Moncada (S) 3B 3. Jose Abreu ® 1B 4. James McCann ® C 5. Eloy Jimenez ® LF 6. Jon Jay (L) DH 7. Jose Rondon ® 2B 8. Ryan Cordell ® CF 9. Charlie Tilson (L) RF 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 3. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 4. J.D. Martinez ® LF 5. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF 6. Michael Chavis ® 1B 7. Marco Hernandez (L) 2B 8. Eduardo Nunez ® DH 9. Sandy Leon (S) C Liking 1,2,3 in our batting order. I think Cora should stick with this even if Beni is in the lineup.
  22. Notice how many breaking pitches were thrown just in this game even with Price throwing them sparingly. Far and away the usual result was: Bugs Bunny swing and miss at pitches finishing a foot outside or even bouncing a foot in front of home plate. They could not hit them and yet they could not lay off them. Looked far more foolish than they look when they miss the high heat which often leaves the viewer thinking "well he juuuuuust missed that one". They can't hit breakers Mr Commissioner and they can't lay off them. Your big bad MLB HR hitters look like they are playing Bugs Bunny Baseball. Make no mistake, most of the Big Bad Bashers wearing the Red Hose don't look any better trying to hit that stuff. X can hit it some, Vaz can hit it some, Rafi can, Holt can. The rest of them are pretty helpless.
  23. I know how hard eck has worked to beat back his demons. As such you could knock me over with a feather if he was. However of late he sounds more like a guy siting on a bar stool watching the game on TV than an analyst.
