    Who is your vote for the best Red Sox player this year? In May, Buchholz looked like he might be a lock for AL Cy Young, but then got hurt at the game I was at. Not going to put up a poll because there really are so many possible choices.

    This makes me contemplate the best Red Sox player ever. Yaz, Williams, or Pesky?

    This is still a first place team, and one of the best records in the league. Even if they have struggled a bit, they are still a great team.

    You could argue that Ryu is among LA's best. He's 11-4 with a 2.95 ERA. And a lefty.

    It seems like Nap's numbers are similar to Pedey's. Slumps happen. It's the dog days for heaven's sake. I like the way he's played this year overall.

    Sox can gain more ground too. Tigers could take at least 3 of 4, and then the A's can beat the Rays.

    When Papi reached his peak, the steroid era was almost over. I think he has been clean so far in his career, and always will be. Red Sox players don't do things like that.
