  1. His old schools had a massive celebration for him last night
  2. Another idea could be to DH Devers to take away his defensive liability, and put Nunez at 3B
  3. Wow, totally forgot we're in an NL park... Hanley as long as he's healthy/not doing anything stupid, or Nunez as long as he's healthy. I can see them both batting between Betts and Moreland in the 5 spot
  4. I would like to see this exact lineup for ALDS Game 1, the only change being the starting pitcher.
  5. For the sake of the rivalry, I would like to see a Sox-Yanks ALCS, because I haven't seen one in my lifetime. But, I don't think the Yankees can beat Cleveland in 5. If given 7 games, they might have more of a chance, but I just don't see it in 5. On the other side, getting past Houston is no easy task, but I feel pretty confident we can do it. Now, we did win the season series 4-3 with the Guardians, but that was right before they got really hot. In fact, the first game of the 22 game win streak was against us in the finale of that series in Cleveland. It depends on who shows up in our rotation. If we get the pitching to back up Sale, we can get past the Guardians. Porcello's been 2016 good at times, 2015 bad at times. Fister's two best outings have been against Cleveland, but I don't see him pitching in the playoffs. Pomeranz has been solid, but hasn't eaten up innings. E-Rod, I think, is the most unpredictable.
  6. The only question is: Is your in-game mojo better than my blowjo?
  7. "Why the hell not?" Mojo RHP Rick Porcello (10-17, 4.46) vs RHP Sal Romano (5-6, 4.07) Benny Biceps is back home for the weekend. Good vibes only. It's a Friday night, and the sorority girls love themselves some Big Dick Rick. Win. Dance. Repeat. x4
  8. It's a night with football on, and I still feel like I'm missing something...
  9. I think it's good that we stretched out Sale last night to get to 300, because now there's no pressure to pitch him the rest of the season. I assume he'll make his next scheduled start on Tuesday, because I figure the division race won't be over by then, but then he's slated to pitch game #162. That one, we can give him a break, unless for some reason, we're tied with NYY. Even this next start on Tuesday, does it make sense to have a pitch count on him, like say 85-90, especially knowing our bullpen? That way, we can likely trust our bullpen, even in a close game, to take some of the load off Sale.
  10. Of course, I'm forgetting about Nunez, since he's out right now... That changes most of what I just said
  11. Interesting take, and I think I agree with it. Looking at things from a defensive perspective as well, I would much greatly prefer Marrero, at least at 3B over Devers. That play he made last night was one indication. He made a really difficult play look easy, while Devers made a really easy play look difficult the night before. As long as his bat keeps doing what it has been, and getting those opposite field hits to drop, I like him starting at 3B in the postseason. Or, another alternative would be to start Devers at 3B, then bring in Marrero for "defensive purposes" in the later innings of a close game. The problem is, I don't see Marrero fitting in anywhere else, so it will be interesting to see who makes the postseason roster, and then we can work from there. If Holt doesn't make it, which I don't think he should, but probably will anyway knowing Farrell, Marrero would be the perfect guy to keep Pedey's knee fresh. But, once again, knowing Farrell, he'll probably use Holt for that spot regardless.
  12. It seems like 10 of those losses came in that little funk we were in 2-3 weeks ago
  13. Agreed. I loved Jonny Gomes, both on and off the field. His walk up song in 2013 got me back into the Dropkick Murphys, and his personality is contagious. All around great guy.
  14. Well he's gone. Gomes is back in for Cincy
  15. So, on to Cincinnati. I can't help but thinking that I could've gone to at least one of these games, if not all of them, if I had ended up at Miami University. I was all ready to commit there, until I had a dream remembering an experience I'd had at UConn last year. That's when I knew. Still, though, even though I love UConn more and more each day, I routinely think about Miami.
  16. I've always gotten along well with people that have opposite views as mine (sports team, political, etc...). The key is, just don't talk about what you differ in. Keep the conversation about what you have in common. I don't really care what team they like, and let's be honest: It's not like I'm getting any action any time soon.
  17. The odds of that happening are less than zero, so don't worry.
  18. My roommate is pledging a frat right now... What if he brings home two girls? What am I supposed to do... watch?
  19. Chris Sale has just done it! He bowled a perfect game!
  20. If we win tonight, I need to get blown before making Friday's GT
  21. Alright, get him outta there now
  22. Wow, just got back from a career fair... You mean we might actually win one in 9?
  23. No Holt! Nothing can stop us now
  24. A second, even less successful version of the Bay of Pigs Invasion
  25. "Why the hell not?" Mojo LHP Chris Sale (16-7, 2.86) vs LHP Wade Miley (8-13, 5.32) What's on Sale tonight? Admission into the sorority's weekly Hump Day celebration! Win. Dance. Repeat. x3
