  1. I've yet to weigh in on this matter. I talked to a friend of mine about this, and he pulled up a stat from somewhere to back it up. I've always trusted Kimbrel more with a 1 run lead, then with a 2 or 3 run lead. He seems to be less focused when he has more runs to work with. That would explain the lack of sharpness in the postseason, because none of his outings in a save situation began with a 1 run lead. The stat my friend pulled up showed that he's blown more 2-3 run saves than 1 run saves in his career. I can't seem to find it, however. Also tack on the fact that we asked him to get 6 outs last night, and 4 outs in ALDS game 1
  2. What it actually was, as mvp said, was bait. He was provoking you, because it has been well established that you are a troll. I'm not saying that doing such a thing is right, or even moral, but he was trying to get you torqued up. Challenge completed
  3. You should have already known that.... But, in any sense, that's your takeaway? That post took me 10 minutes to write
  4. I've been called worse today.
  5. That's fine. Nobody can tell you how to read tone. Trust me on that, coming from someone that has problems understanding social cues. In that case, just be the better person and ignore it. As you can tell, the overarching rule of this place is not to make anything political
  6. If they could magically make the poles go away in the infield grandstands, that would be nice.
  7. I believe what he's saying is that you didn't have to bring politics in it. Sure he brought it up first, but he was half-joking, assuming I'm reading the tone right. We would've gotten the point without you alluding to your dad's history with the NYPD, which I absolutely envy and respect FWIW.
  8. They were in our position this past NBA playoffs season. They were the #1 seed up against the odds on favorite reigning champs 3-2, and then squandered the series with a late collapse on their home floor in game 7. Maybe they're just learning from experience. I'm certainly not counting them out, and it's certainly fresh in their heads.
  9. I appreciate Fenway's glory, maybe because I don't go nearly often enough. If I were to become a season ticket holder, which I would contemplate if I moved to the Boston area as I might want to do after college, I feel like Fenway might lose its charm to me after 81 games every year.
  10. In my book this is a game 7. Letting them get one tonight and take it back to Fenway is the same as losing the series. The Astros live and die on confidence and momentum. Right now, they've lost it. The last two games, despite fighting back to tie (game 3) and take a lead multiple times (game 4), they've lost, which to them must be a morale killer. We need to step on their throats right now while we can. It's only a matter of time before they start getting the clutch hits they need, like the clutch hit Bregman thought he had last night. If they get their vibe back, the last 2 games at Fenway could be very dangerous. We also can't afford to lose this one because then we lose Sale for Game 1 of the World Series, unless Cora limits his pitch count in game 6, which I highly doubt, given it would be a closeout game and no holds barred. With that being said, I am all in tonight. Unless I fall asleep watching the game (which has happened before), I have nothing until 1:30 tomorrow so I am good to watch this one with y'all after being criticized for going to bed early last night (I ended up going to bed at the end of the 2nd inning btw). I have an accounting exam scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30, but it's accounting, which is my major, so I expect to get out early and be back in time for the start. Win. Advance. Repeat. x4
  11. Matt Carpenter Brett Gardner My mind is mush at the moment. Someone add to this please
  12. They've had an incredible home field advantage this postseason. With the last 2 at home, it's not over yet
  13. Under normal circumstances maybe. But as I alluded to above my life is a mess right now.
  14. I've been sick and my closest friend is in the hospital. Last night was the night with no sleep.
  15. I can not stay up for this one no matter what is going on. Tomorrow's a 6:30 wake up call, and I've already been missing out on sleep this week.
  16. I want to say Syracuse is good, since they beat the team I work for the week before that by 30, but yeah, it's Syracuse.
  17. Clemson didn't exactly have a great non-conference schedule either. Ohio State's win against TCU is looking worse and worse by the week
  18. Gotta love our odds tonight. Win. Advance. Repeat. x3
  19. It would even the playing field at 3B that's for sure
  20. Let's GOOOOOOOOOO
  21. Nothing can ever be easy
  22. DFA anybody who has ever played 3B for us
  23. Just. Get. Out. Of. This.
  24. Thought that said Cora for a second. I went to dinner and came back. Didn't think I miss that much lol
  25. Exactly what we could have asked from Eovaldi so far
