  1. I really hate that we go to SD this year. Would have loved to see what Fenway would have put together for Orsillo
  2. I would say they're the 2nd most recognizable team/brand in the world among baseball teams. We're probably 3rd on that list
  3. At one point back when I had more time on my hands, I would try to watch every highlight from A's, Padres, Diamondbacks, and Yankees games just to hear those crews
  4. Last night when I was there it was probably 30% Dodgers. Sox fans are still there, but road team fans that travel in bunches tend to be louder to make themselves heard. Especially when they are playing well
  5. Excuse me but I'm no kid, and I'm actually offended being called kid, because people in my life keep treating me like one
  6. Considering the only Star Wars film I've seen was the original as part of a film study class, that shouldn't come as a surpise
  7. I hate to say it but I've really grown to love Michael Kay and John Sterling. I actually learn stuff whenever I watch or listen to a Yankees game. I love Glen Kuiper and Ray Fossi in Oakland, and Duane Kuiper in San Fran. Orsillo and Mudcat are good in San Diego (not as good as Remy and Orsillo tho). Diamondbacks have a good crew led by a former SportsCenter anchor, and the White Sox crew is led by Jason Benetti, a multipurpose ESPN guy. I love Brian Anderson for the Brewers, as well as everything else he does, and I like the Cubs crew. Of course I love OB, Eck, and Remy. I miss Castiglione and O'Brien a ton. I think Keith Hernandez is very underrated for the Mets as well
  8. What's this reference? I'm assuming it's a classic movie that I don't know
  9. See? This J-Lo fascination is what I'm talking about. They need to reel in the non-baseball fans
  10. Similarly, I also like Meredith whatever the hell her last name is on YES.
  11. If you're an educated, baseball crazed fan like all of us are, it shouldn't matter, like you say Max. And if you're a casual fan, just tuning in to kill time, you might think baseball is boring, which is why ESPN has this system in place. They want to keep viewers reeled in. Baseball is a very boring game. As an outfielder, I know that very well. I can't tell you how many times I was bored out of my mind sitting out there. People that aren't into baseball that are just flipping through the channels aren't going to stay on the game very long if it's not entertaining. The broadcasters have a very important job. I'm not really into hockey, but any game that Doc Emrick broadcasts, I tend to tune in for longer than I would have otherwise, because he makes the game entertaining
  12. Our culture has really taken the meaning out of "f*** You". It should mean something sexual but no longer does.
  13. The world of golf also has a really amazing female broadcaster. Amanda Balionis is the real deal, also covering football, where she shines as well. And I'm not saying that because I have a crush on her. And I honestly think Mendoza is very smart and good at her job. Y'all are just made because you think we suck and aren't going anywhere this year. And no, I'm not saying we should add more female broadcasters for the hell of it. I'm saying we should give them a chance if they qualify for the position. Like, say, Jennie Finch
  14. I never said I forgive A-Rod, or that we should all like him. But since he's in a totally different role now, it's unfair to not like him just because he terrorized your team as a player. He's not playing anymore. Let it go
  15. Is there anybody you do like? Damn
  16. Yeah I saw that coming a mile away. Bad call by Febles. He was right there too
  17. I'm saying the sexism is very subtle, and is hiding below the surface. Put someone in there as "bad" as Mendoza that has a penis, and I'm sure there are fewer complaints
  18. I'm assuming you're serious, just based on how provocative I've been, but those words mean nothing to me
  19. There were no sexual undertones or implications in my comment, and none that I had picked up on in Slasher's comment
  20. I believe you, but I'm not convinced yet. We need more female broadcasters first. College football is my favorite sport, and one of my favorite play by play announcers is a woman. No matter who you are, a culture of prejudice has been built into Americans for over 250 years. I'm not saying I'm perfect and totally tolerant. I still get uncomfortable around the LGBTQIA+ community, even though I fully support their push for equality
  21. I think that's unfair. Before he cheated, he was a generational talent. You can't say he doesn't know the game. Whether or not he deserves it is an irrelevant question, and totally different argument
  22. If y'all think I love Springer, just imagine all the things I'm holding back right now about AJ
  23. You don't have to like them, but they certainly don't suck. At least not as much as they used to. https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2019/06/espns-sunday-night-baseball-viewership-up-from-last-season/
  24. Wow what an AB by Pollock. All 4 RBIs tonight. That's insane
