    The ALE is extremely competitive? Everyone is above .500 and no team is further than 3 games out. Because it takes time to gain games on other teams even more so because of the prior reason. because Gonzalez is an out more often than he usually is. Injuries: CC, Ells, Ross, Bailey, Melancon, DiceK. Annnd, because our pitching isn't great. Buchholz only just recently (past 4-5 starts) found his changeup. Beckett doesn't get enough run support.

    He never did throw his real heat of 97+ as a starter. Why not? I think he could try again as the starter or go to the bp as long as his pitches are working for him, he shouldn't go anywhere till then.

    You need to include Gonzo in that list of players as well as Youk & WMB. Gonzo is acting OF right now which is easier to do with so many injures, its not like he is replacing Ells or CC or even Nava in the OF. Youk [& Nava] get dealt before CC returns (assuming Ells returns prior to CC)? Could happen. I hate to see Youk leave but WMB is the youth injection. Nava has been playing tremendously for the Sox. Let's see what his stats are by then end of June.

    Excellent game Clay. Sox need to give some of that run support to Beckett. Clay is averaging something like 6.5 runs/game.

    for 20m/yr [cc & gonzo] you should be PRODUCING day in and day out. Every freaking day you're impact should be felt -- this is why 20m/yr is ridiculous to pay any bb player -- and gonzo sure aint doing it nor cc. at what point do we stop saying it "its only [date here]"?? i guess as long as we can stay no further than 3.5 games out we're still in reach...
