As much as we all get on Lackey, I admit regretably that I jumped on the "he sucks" bandwagon breifly during his last start, but give him credit for going out there during this s*** and being ready single-handedly kill the Orioles. I like the guy and hope he goes out there tomorrow and kicks their sorry asses, either with a fastball to someone's ass or pitching a gem. I still have faith in you John.

I don't think it's fair to get on Papi without even knowing what Gregg said to him. Ortiz doesn't just flip out like that so I assume that Gregg deserved to have Ortiz try to kick his last place ass.

Problem is why would the Mets take Lackey. I would love seeing Bay back in Boston though, I've missed him ever since he left.

This could've turned out to be a bigger problem than it is. It's probably sort of a good thing, Lester gets some rest at the halfway point and the allstar break means he won't be missing too many starts. At least we have a silver lining to look at.

Plus, how skewed is that number by the blowup against Oakland? I'd like to see Pap's overall numbers in save or tie game situations. I bet they're a lot more pretty than the overall line. I'm ecstatic at what Jon's given us this year providing what happened last season.
