  1. Pedey strikes me as the kind of guy who would take a discount to stay here. I think we'll be able to get him for a fraction of what Cano winds up getting from NY or LA.
  2. Felix through 3 in around 30 pitches with one base runner. Damn has this guy made some serious progress or what?
  3. What I want to know is why the hell Girardi is batting him 7th.
  4. Hey! I remember this POS!
  5. Jonny gomes mothaf***a!
  6. I'd give him 6 years. He's not just the best second baseman, IMO, in baseball but he's also the face of our franchise.
  7. Papi didn't swing, therefore ball.
  8. That was a ball you blind bitch
  9. Lucky f***er. Good sign though that Pettite is getting ripped early
  10. Agreed. Pedey is the one player who I don't bat an eye with in regards to offering a long term, big money deal. Get it done.
  11. I think that's one thing worth mentioning. This is purely based off memory here but it seems like Iggy was putting up some pretty solid AB's during his streak of dominance. Maybe that can lead to him possessing enough plate discipline so that he can walk enough to put up a low .300 OBP if his average and power don't come around. Shortstops tend to suck with the bat as a rule so if he can reach a consistent level of performance that's at least bearable, his glove work should be more than enough to outweigh whatever failings he has as a hitter.
  12. Kind of off-topic but MLBN doing a pretty sweet little story on Nava's path to the Majors.
  13. Jon Lester removes at least some portion of his head from his ass and gives us a high 3 low 4 ERA by year's end. We win 95 games, seal the division, and the Yankees miss the playoffs. John Lackey continues to be awesome and impregnates 5 Boston area women and 3 more on the road by the end of the season due to the copious amounts of ass he will be getting.
  14. That's because he wouldn't be an upgrade. The reason he's not an upgrade is because he sucks. He's a mid 30's middle infielder who blows away from Citizens Bank and is worse with the glove than a blind guy in a wheel chair. Give me Drew all day, every day because he doesn't cost us a prospect and has been great defensively as we'll as putting up offensive numbers that are more than enough for a shortstop.
  15. Are we maybe being a little hard on Markakis? He's pretty bleh this year but he's got a career .812 OPS with a .362 OBP, and a 116 OPS+. Not MVP numbers and Choo is better but Markakis has been a solid player for quite a while now, this year excluded.
  16. Just because I'm bragging about my future wife in my sig doesn't mean I no longer am president of the John Lackey Does Not Suck Club.
  17. ******** I threw Lackey under the bus! You speak blasphemy!
  18. Well aside from Nava and Gomes, I don't think you can necessarily count on there being enough offense in the OF because Victorino has been okay with the bat but his value is mostly with the glove and there's no guarantee that JBJ has success right off the bat. And I bring it up because general consensus seems to be that we are going to make an effort to keep Jacoby and I'm just wondering whether we'd be better off targeting Choo instead.
  19. Who needs Buch and Lester when we have the almighty John Lackey imposing his will on opposing hitters? Seriously, though. Where would we be without Lackey going full on Ace over everybody's asses this year?
  20. I wouldn't be too opposed to it. What do you think Choo will get in FA?
  21. What do we all think about Shin Soo Choo? He's a year older and is supposed to be an a FA at year's end. Do we look at him if Ells walks or do we let Ells go and take Choo? His defense and speed aren't up to to Ellsbury's level but he's got great on base skills and much more consistent power. I'm thinking about the possibility of an outfield that consists of Choo, JBJ, and some combo of Vic/Nava/Gomes in right. Thoughts?
