Agree 110%. It sucks that we lost last night, and I very very very rarely do this, but the umps really f***ed us and beat us. Between the clear balk call on Pedroia (Suzuki was wanting help from the 3rd base ump, thought Gonzo may have broken the plane on his check swing), paired with the incredibly ridiculous confusion between the umpires on the interference call that ended up not being interference? I mean it was a bush league horse s*** job by the umpires. Ellsbury was in easy at 2nd base and would have tied the game on Salty's single, and we would have had men on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs for Lowrie. Oki would have never come in because it would have been a tie game, and we would have gotten to their bullpen. So, Anderson threw a great game, sure, but we won that game if the calls were even.
Having said that, all things considered, at this point of the season and after Lackey's past few games, I'd much rather see him throw 6 IP of 1 run baseball and be a tough luck loser because we ran into Anderson at the wrong time and the umps f***ed us, than to see Lackey go 4.2 and give up 7 runs, but win the game 14-11 and be thinking "WTF is wrong with Lackey". It's one loss, but if that one loss gets the ball rolling for him and he turns in 6 wins in his next 8 outings, it's worth it. And I think that's what is happening.
