  1. Youk is now 1 for 15 with 10 K's with a Runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs. Puke!
  2. That was entirely on Pedroia, not on Tito at all. Bunting for a hit. Turf must be playing slow :dunno:
  3. Miller pitching tonight in Pawtucket tonight, FYI.
  4. Are you kidding me Pedroia?? You're the freaking hottest hitter in the MLB.
  5. I'm really disappointed in JD and hope that we get Beltran, but until that move is made I hope Drew gets white hot this series.
  6. Absolutely. And Sox can't afford another contract like that. Ells is one of my favorite players, but I think he'll go somewhere else in a few years. Hopefully the Sox can win a few WS with him in the line up, they already have 1 in 07 with him. Never know - Some players will take a hometown discount if it involves winning. Look at CarGo. He's a Boras client. Took a 7 year, $80mm contract. If he went year-to-year, he would have gotten much more than that. Likes the club, likes their chances to win. So if the Red Sox can sign Ellsbury to a 5 year, $55-60mm contract, I think they would do it.
  7. Pedroia is hitting .500 with a 1.452 OPS, 4 Doubles, 1 HR, 9 RBI in last 6 games. He's absolutely scorching hot right now. Crawford is hitting .352 with a 1.024 OPS, 4 Doubles, 2 Triples, 3 Homeruns, 12 RBI, and 13 Runs Scored in 13 games hitting in the 6 hole. Discussion over.
  8. Seems like almost every player on the Sox is scorching right now. Ellsbury - Hitting .400 with a 1.066 OPS, 20 Runs, 7 Doubles, 3 HR, 8 SB in last 17 Games Pedroia - Hitting .500 with a 1.452 OPS, 4 Doubles, 1 HR, 9 RBI in last 6 games. Gonzalez - Hitting .396 with a 1.275 OPS, 4 HR and 15 RBI in last 12 games. Youkilis - Hitting .323 with a 1.022 OPS, 4 Doubles, 1 HR, 8 RBI in past 8 games Ortiz - Hitting .426, 1.427 OPS with 6 HR, 6 Doubles, 19 RBI in past 12 games (Holy crap) Crawford - Hitting .338 with a 1.023 OPS, 4 HR, 3 Triples, 4 Doubles, 17 RBI in past 17 games Salty - Hitting .400 with a 1.144 OPS, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, 1 HR, 4 RBI in last 7 games Scutaro - Hitting .457 with a 1.115 OPS in past 9 games. Varitek - Hitting .350 with a 1.158 OPS in past 6 games, 2 HR, 6 RBI.
  9. Sweep the damn Rays. And put them in their place. James "Panty" Shields won't be able to stop the bleeding tonight. Red Sox score early and often.
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=15641137 This is why I'd miss the DH.
  11. If this happens and there is constantly 1 interleague series going on, they will need to either do away with the DH, or institute the DH in the NL. I vote that they institute it into the NL. I'm so tired of watching s***** pitchers try to hit a 96 mph fastball. Oh wait, they don't. All they do is lay down bunts. It's incredibly boring and it's insanely easier to pitch in the NL. 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd in a 1 run game, 8th hitter up? Oh, I'll just pitch around you and throw to the pitcher. It's ridiculous. What needs to happen is for two of the s***** NL teams that play in a small market and has zero success (Astros, Pirates) to be removed from the league. By expanding to two more teams, all you're doing is diluting the talent and whatever division these teams go to, it will be 16-18 more games every year that are easy wins for the better teams. Then you can go to the 14 team AL and 14 team NL and remove the divisions, but at least you won't have IL games being played every night.
  12. Oh, just another AL Player of the Week, that's all.
  13. Whatever. I wrote it half asleep. Thanks for catching the mistake.
  14. Through 65 Games: Player A: .259/.361/.526/.887, 18 HR, 57 RBI Player B: .325/.395/.624/1.019, 17 HR, 43 RBI Player B is obviously David Ortiz this year. Player A? Oh, just David Ortiz circa 2006, just the year he hit 54 bombs. I can't believe Papi is OPS'ing .230 points higher right now than he was in 2006. Can Big Papi hit 45 again?? It's definitely not out of the question! If you can't be optimistic about that, GTFO.
  15. Gonzo had 15 RBI in April, 31 in May, and has 14 in June (on track for 35 this month). He has 25 games left until the All Star Break. If he averages 1.6 RBI per game from now until the ASB, he will hit 100 by the ASB. As hot as Ellsbury is right now, and with Pedroia and Scutaro catching fire, this is very possible. What an achievement that would be, to drive in your 100th run by the ASB.
  16. Jackso is trying to find negatives in this team, and all he can come up with is "They will come down to earth" Sorry, Jackso. The Sox are the best team in the AL this year, easily the AL East, and now that Colon is down, the Sox will run away with this division.
