  1. This is what Gonzo did to Jesse Crain when he lined that ball off of his back!
  2. my RULES OF MAKING A GAME THREAD got deleted
  3. This. Now that it's June, and minor league call ups no longer affect arbitration, and you get a free year out of them, something must be wrong with Montero for him not to be up in Cervelli's place. I can think of 3 scenarios. 1. Montero isn't the bat that the Yankees have proclaimed, and they're trying to hide that a bit to retain value at the trading deadline. 2. Montero's defensive skills are so absolutely horrid that even the increase in offensive production over Cervelli would be a waste because of the defensive drop off. And that's horrible, considering Cervelli just threw 3 balls in the CF. 3. They want Montero to be starting everyday, which he wouldn't do in the MLB because of players like Jeter, Posada, and A-Rod needing regular days off because of age, resulting in the need for a guy like Nunez to play their positions while they DH. I'm not sure which of the 3 scenarios is in play, but regardless, none of them are good.
  4. I know. It makes me sick. I would love for Ells to be a lifer, but with Boras as his agent, I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately. I wish we could just lock him up to a 4-5 year, $45-50mm deal, or something like that
  5. To put into perspective how good of a season Ellsbury is having right now, it's been a little over 1/3 of the season, and Ellsbury is on track for a season of: .310/.370/.476/.846, 20 HR, 85 RBI, 50 Doubles, 110 Runs, 65 Stolen Bases, and 202 Hits. Are those MVP numbers??
  6. Doesn't get much better than a little morning coffee and Red Sox 7 run 7th inning highlights.
  7. That was absolutely amazing. After the 6th inning, I headed to bed and watched the game on my phone. The wife was asleep, so I couldn't go nuts during the bottom of the 7th, but after Ortiz got his 1st hit of the 7th (I love that you have to specify), I thought "This is going to be a big inning", but I never would have thought 7 runs big. Absolutely huge win for us right there. Lets hope our team isn't exhausted and flat tonight. Unlike last time we had a really late game when Lackey went home early to prep for the next game, and then got blown up by the Angels, maybe Buchholz got some good rest and will shut down the Jays tonight. SWEEEPPP!!!!!!!!!
  8. My dear God. At least move your foot.
  9. ....not to mention he was looking at the backstop when the pitch crossed the plate....
  10. Wow. That's embarrassing.
  11. CC could go the distance tonight.
  12. Ells hitting everything on the screws right now. Gonzo makes an adjustment next AB and goes deep.
  13. Nice play by Gonzo.
  14. CC at 64 through 4, which is 16 per inning. That gets him 7 easy if he continues it. One inning where he gets touched up, though, and he's out after 6.
  15. Woah. That ball completely changed directions. Its like it was a fly ball to RF then all of a sudden it turned into a line drive toward the infield. And it's impossible for the ball to have been caught and transferred into the glove....
  16. That seems pretty immature.
  17. Gonzalez looks foolish right now.
  18. The umpires this season have got to be at an all time worst. I can't remember seeing this putrid of everyday umpires in my life. It's absolutely ridiculous.
  19. I mean. High school umpires get that s*** correct. That's f***ing ridiculous. Seriously. So much arrogance.
