Kruk mentioned that he may be on his way out today. Just because you don't want to hear about it doesn't mean that nobody can talk about it.

    Reddick will almost definitely start today. I think Gonzo is going to have a multi-HR game tonight against Latos.

    Yeah his defense has not been very good, but his offense more than makes up for it. He's still averaged a 6.5 WAR over the past 3 years. Not to mention HanRam hits .354 with a .920 OPS vs LHP. You stick him in our line up and all of a sudden this team handles lefties really well.

    Reyes is older and has an injury history, plus he will be hitting FA after this year. HanRam has a couple years left on his deal. Would you hit HanRam 3rd, and bump everyone down?

    It would absolutely cost a lot in prospects. Probably young pitching, too, which sucks. Iglesias would almost certainly be in the deal, which is fine if we're getting HanRam. Ranaudo is our best arm right now, and you know they would want that. Iglesias + Ranaudo + Lowrie + Weiland, or something like that. Wow that's a major haul. Weiland is cruising in AAA, Ranaudo is promoted as if he's the next Curt Schilling. Who knows.

    John Kruk was just on the Mut and Merloni show on WEEI, and he was talking about Hanley Ramirez, and how HanRam said "If Ed Rodriguiz is out, I'm out". Well, now Edwin is gone, and Kruk thinks the Marlins are going to dish HanRam. He said Hanley needs a change of scenery, that he's tired of playing for the Marlins. If we could deal with ManRam, surely we can deal with HanRam. That's one trade where I would offer Iglesias + Ranaudo + Weiland, or something like that. 3 of our top prospects, absolutely.

    On yesterday's postgame show on WEEI, they were talking to Pedroia and here's how it went: WEEI: "So you're on pace to walk 100 times this season. Now, in the past you've been content to walk 70 times, in that area. What gives this season? Why all the walks?" Pedroia: "No protection. No protection. We gave Adrian 154 million dollars and I can't get protection, this is unbelievable. I don't care how hot he's hitting, he's hitting .360, I need somebody back there protecting me. I don't want to walk, are you kiddin me?!" Perfect response.
