  1. Salty better be asking where that pitch is with Miller on the mound.
  2. I was just looking this up, but Darnell has great numbers vs Price. Before that HR, he has hit .333 with a 1.078 OPS vs Price in his career.
  3. :harhar::harhar::harhar::harhar:
  4. What do you mean WS pitcher?!? You go with a 3 man rotation in the WS. 4 max. And Lackey is our 4th man. We have zero offense in the NL parks because our RF is incredibly exploited.
  5. Miller is our 5th man dude. You can't have 5 freaking aces on your team. Our top 3 are as good or better than any top 3 in the MLB.
  6. Damn. 32 pitches already.
  7. Miller is dead over the middle of the plate on everything just about.
  8. This ump is horribly inconsistent with his zone.
  9. He needs a cutter or a 2 seamer, and an over the top curveball.
  10. Come on Miller. Throw strikes man.
  11. That's because he can get ahead 0-2 or 1-2, but has no put-away pitch, so he nibbles.
  12. Wow. Where the hell did ball 1 miss?!?
  13. I didn't realize his OBP was so low this year. Age is finally catching up to him. Sad day. But you're right, he's got great splits.
  14. Because that's the ONLY way that the Mets are going to receive anything other than a "thank you" card when Beltran leaves. He cannot be offered arbitration. If the Mets don't want to sell, fine, they can keep him, but they're sure as hell not going to receive anything more than a mid-level prospect for 2 months of Beltran and no supplemental pick.
  15. Dude come on. That's L-L-L at the top. :harhar: Seriously though. If you want everyone else to drop it, then stop instigating it.
  16. No chance they get a blue chip for him. Absolutely no chance. 2 months of an injury prone OF who can't even be offered arbitration to return anything on your investment. GM's are actually smart, you know.
  17. Lavarnway may be a pretty piece to deal in a trade, though. 21 HR and a .932 OPS in the MILB this year, including 7 HR and a 1.058 OPS in 27 games at AAA. The Dodgers could use a 1B. Lavarnway + Reddick + Doubront + PTBNL for Ethier. Make it happen.
  18. Did you not read the comments on the last page? There was an article in the Providence Journal stating that the Sox are logjammed on the 40 man roster and need to make room, and now is a great time to unload a couple names on the 40 man in a trade.
  19. Bay is a pretty curious option. We could probably get him for fairly cheap, something like Reddick + Bowden + take on 60% of his remaining salary. The guy mashed at Fenway, and with this line up, he could be beastly again. If we picked him up on July 31, that would leave a total of $54.33 over 2 months this year, and 3 years following. If the Sox picked up 60 - 70% of Bay's salary, they could have him at a total cost of $32.6 - $38mm over 3.33 years. It would definitely be a gamble. Stick Bay in LF, put Crawford in RF where his defense becomes better utilized. It's worth at least looking into.
  20. Good lookin out. Thanks for narrowing down the trade chips, I didn't know who was on the 40 man either. Well, none of those names are really overwhelming with talent other than Kalish and Doubront. Pimental just got demoted back to Salem. Bowden's got a 3.11 ERA in AAA, and he threw 7 innings, 1 ER in the MLB this year. Regardless, I don't see any of those players getting us an "impact player" as stated in the article.
  21. Very, very interesting. I wonder if this is really a thought process from Theo, and if he would be more willing to make a move now or during the offseason. I don't want to drain the farm, but at the same time if we're overstocked, it would be a perfect time to unload some prospects for an impact RF like Beltran, although I wouldn't touch anything that resembles a high level prospect in that deal. I'm still not sold on the fact that the Dodgers aren't at least listening on Ethier. If the Sox can give them a deal they want, I think they would deal him.
  22. I freaking LOVE this.
  23. I hope a reporter asks Colon if he's got any nausea from reentry since he's finally come back down to earth.
  24. Beckett, or any other sp on our team, would s*** his pants on the mound and puke between innings before they missed a start in the playoffs. They would throw through a hell of a lot more during the post season than they would on July 15th. Right now they're trying to make sure they are healthy to get to the post season. Once October rolls around, all bets are off and these precautionary measures are thrown out the window. You've got 4 months off to recover after the post season so you can gamble a little more.
