    I have no idea why the Yankees overrate Nova so bad. Back of the rotation pitcher, at best a 3-4 man in a weak rotation. As far as if we get Ubaldo, damn. That would be sick, and it wouldn't just be for this year, it would be through 2014 at least! Our rotation would be insane. That said, the Phillies are insanely stout now, especially since they can use Dom Brown as a DH in AL games.

    :dunno: Looks like the Yankees are all over Ubaldo. That's almost fine with me because I think Felix is going to be available this offseason, and the Sox won't have to outbid the Yanks here. Felix makes $10mm right now. He makes $18.5mm in 2012, $19.5mm in 2013, and $20mm in 2014. That's $58.5mm over 3 years. I bet he's dealt this offseason.

    I thought so too, until I read this: Sounds like he's not a guy who would prosper in a big stage, and the last thing I'd want is a guy who blows up in a post season game bc he can't handle the pressure.

    Go get Ubaldo, put him in a uni, and have him start in place of Miller on Sunday

    Bedard getting hit touched up by a horrible Rays offense. Maybe this is what Theo needed to see to get the deal done on Ubaldo. Bedard couldn't make it through 2. EDIT: Given he was on an extremely short pitch count, but its not like he was mowing them down.

    Theo needs to strike when the iron's hot. Go get Ubaldo right now, pull the trigger so he doesn't pitch tomorrow and we can have him throw before next Thursday. This is a trade that I would be willing to "lose" slightly, i.e. overpay for him right now. The guy's stuff is electric, and with him, Beckett, Lester, and Buchholz, this team would be borderline unstoppable.
