I gotta disagree here. When I'm auditing companies, and I miss a material misstatement that completely deceives investors, do you think my boss is going to come in and say "Hey I know you were trying, and I'm not going to blame you. s*** happens man". Hell no. He comes in and rips me up one side and down the other.
It's the same thing. When these players don't perform up to expectations, you don't fire them, but you can blame them for what they've done. Reddick dicked us this game, 2 of those runs in the 3rd inning are his fault, plain and simple.
