  1. Sitting back a ways behind home plate, but I see nobody warming up for 9th. Looks like its going to be Morales in the 9th as well. Which is fine, he cruised in the 8th. And by the way, after Buchs horrid first inning, he showed a lot of grit to get through 7. If the Sox hold on, Buch just got himself a tailor made Lackey Win.
  2. We need a game thread for today!! I'm sitting at Game On at Fenway right now. Got tickets to the game today, tomorrow, Monday, and Wednesday. SFF At The Game Mojo!!!
  3. Fortunately, it's a new medical staff. They canned the old medical staff.
  4. Spot on, Jackso. Well played. Do they have to wait until swelling goes down to determine if there is significant damage to the labrum or rotator cuff?
  5. Lin got scratched from his start tonight. He's the one getting called up.
  6. 6-8 weeks puts him back here anywhere from late may to mid June, so it's not horrible, especially considering we'll have Crawford back in 2-3 weeks and he can be the same player as Ellsbury, but with less power. Lin has an outstanding arm and can be a viable defensive replacement. Nothing on the trade or FA market, so we're going to go with an in-house move. Could have been much, much worse.
  7. Regardless - Crawford is going to be able to come back, get set in the top of the order where he likes to hit, and be the hitter that he was in TB, so losing Ellsbury won't be as big of a hit as it would if we didn't have Crawford. If Crawford can turn into TB Crawford, then we will see minimal drop off in OF offense from last year, considering the year that Crawford had and the year that our RF had.
  8. Cody Ross at least has the ability to be a 20-25 HR player with consistent playing time. Sweeney and DMac don't. Ross won't ever been an all star, but he is passable.
  9. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=18151943&sid=t533 Um. Cannon. This is easily one of the strongest throws I've ever seen in my entire life, and he didn't even set up under the ball. That's jaw dropping. From the warning track while drifting back to 3rd base on the bleeping fly!!! Damn!!!
  10. I'm ashamed that this thread is working on it's 3rd page.
  11. Per WEEI. Sounds like a dislocated shoulder.
  12. Neither does Darnell McDonald or Ryan Sweeney.
  13. Interesting tidbit from Rob Bradford regarding the potential replacement if Ellsbury is out for a bit. He says the Sox may want to consider going with Lars Anderson, who they tried out in the OF during ST. If he is just going to play a little LF, I'm all for it. And when Crawford gets back, I say put him in CF if Ells isn't back by then.
  14. Smooth, smooth play Gonzo.
  15. Hey did you guys know that we were only winning by 3 at one point during this game? That seems like forever ago.
  16. Sweeney is due for a rocket.
  17. Wow. It was 35 minutes between the 3rd out of the top of the 8th and the 1st out of the bottom of the 8th. 35 minutes!!
  18. Damn I hope Shoppach goes deep here.
  19. I hope this team beats the Rays unmercifully. To an absolute pulp. After last September, I hope they cry tonight.
  20. Papi is going to smash one here.
  21. I mean seriously?? 8-1 and you have the infield in?? "Gotta cut down that runner. We can score 7. We can't score 8."
  22. DON'T SLIDE WITH AN 8 RUN LEAD PEDROIA PLEASE!!!
  23. Ha. And Maddon said there's no advantage to be gained by having Shoppach face the Rays. I would beg to differ.
  24. Is there any way possible I can make that GIF my photo???
