  1. NOOOOO!!!!! Why the hell are we going with Aceves?!?!?
  2. CODY f***ING ROSS!!!! THERE'S YOUR SCUTARO MONEY SCM!!!!
  3. Wow. I think that's ridiculous to call him injury prone. If he hurt his ribs again in his injury this year, fine, I can see that. But two freak injuries?? Come on. That's absurd.
  4. Please, Please, Please, can we call up Middlebrooks already?!?
  5. Yes. An injury prone player is a player who has recurring injuries on a specific area. Beckett is injury prone because of his back. Youk is injury prone because of his groin. Is Ellsbury injury prone?
  6. No way, Youkilis grounded out.
  7. Yeah. I'm surprised. You can call someone injury prone all day if you want, but he didn't get injured with a recurring injury (i.e. his elbow). He got hurt in a freak injury. Other than that, he was healthy, so that argument makes zero sense. And Crawford was expected to miss about a week max. Not a month.
  8. Good job Bard!! You just screwed yourself out of a starting job though.
  9. Wow. That's been a strike all damn game.
  10. Yes. Because before the season started and when Scutaro was traded, Cherington knew that Crawford, Ellsbury, and Bailey were all going to miss significant time.
  11. They signed Cody Ross and have said multiple times that they are freeing up money for an in-season move.
  12. That's fine. I agree. But you can't say "We should have signed Papelbon" because we didn't have the cash to sign Papelbon.
  13. Love watching hitters get beat on a fastball and somehow it turns into a triple. And by the way, he was off the bag. Get a better view you POS ump.
  14. Well you can't just say "He deserved it more than some of our other mistakes, so we should have signed him" Those other mistake signings are the signings that prohibited us from signing Papelbon. I'd absolutely rather have Lackey than Papelbon, but we have Lackey, so they couldn't spend the money on Papelbon. By no means am I defending some of the signings that this team has made, but at the same time you have to realize that the mistake signings are the signings that prohibited the Papelbon signing.
  15. He's proven himself in high leverage situations while pitching in the AL East. Would you really rather have a guy like Heath Bell who was a product of Petco Park and NL West lineups but has recorded a few saves instead of Bard??
  16. He should have left Doubront in against the Yankees. He was cruising, 1 mistake pitch, and only threw 99 pitches through 6. Let him go 110-115 and get through 7 and they probably win that game.
  17. Bard is in the bullpen tonight, remember?
  18. How many games did Pap save before he became the closer?
