    To be fair, this is a Mariners team who put up 3 ER over 6 IP against Verlander, so they aren't completely incompetent. And I mean lets be honest. What more could Beckett have done to dominate this team any more? 9 K's in 7 IP, 0 ER. He did exactly what you would expect a very good pitcher to do against a bad lineup.

    I swear on everything I own, if the Red Sox keep streaking, or start a new winning streak and Youkilis replaces WMB in the middle of a winning streak, I'm going to lose my s***.

    And oh by the way, Iglesias is showing some big strides in AAA as well. Hit a 2 run bomb tonight He's now hitting .258 with a .320 OBP on the season. And in May, he's hitting .372 with a .925 OPS. I know the overall numbers aren't exactly eye popping, but his OPS is significantly higher, especially his OBP (around 30-35 points higher), and he's not going to be a power hitter. If we can get him to hit .240 with a .300 OBP, I think they'll take that from him all day.

    Oh nothing much in the 2nd game of the DH tonight for Salem. Just a leadoff triple is all.

    The Red Sox now have had their SP throw 4 consecutive games of 6 IP or more, 1 ER or less. Don't think that's significant? Last time the Sox did that was April 16 - April 19, 2011. Their record going into the game on 4/16? 2-10. Then they went on an 81-42 run.

    Doesn't even have to do that. Just give me a .300 average and a couple XBH with a couple RBI's. That's not even asking that much from the kid. But if he can do that against the Rays, that would be huge.

    You just can't give Youk his job back. Sorry Youk, but we're trying to win games, and right now, there's a good thing going on with this team. You've got a kid out there who is playing his tail off every single game and is a .300 hitter with an OPS over .950, driving in over a run a game (14 RBI in 12 G). It's unfortunate, but while this team is winning games, you don't want to change anything, especially after the start.

    Bradley needs to be promoted instantly. This is a guy who could be up with the big club as soon as mid to late 2013. Led off today's game with a double. Now hitting .395. OPS of 1.098. He's not being challenged at all.

    I actually don't think they will demote him. Really think about it. They can't. Fans would be irate beyond belief.

    Beckett averaging 13 pitches per inning. That would give him 117 for the game if he goes the distance. Which is right around what Lester threw yesterday. Doubt they'll let Beckett get that deep into a pitch count coming off of a lat injury, but it would sure be sweet to have back to back CG's.
