    His stuff is just completely overpowering in A ball. It's not at all indicative of how he's pitching because he's able to miss down the middle with a 98 mph FB and get away with it, and buckle knees on a curveball that is hung.

    Lars basically had it done for Harden last year, which is essentially what McCarthy is this year. He's a bit injury prone, with some good upside. But again, I looked at his stats, and I'm weary of him. We've already got a sinkerballer in Aaron Cook.

    Good question. They really want a corner IF prospect. He's a FA next season, though, so they can't demand too much. I would definitely go Lars Anderson + a mid level guy for McCarthy. Beane is obsessed with Lars for his OBP.

    Funny, because if Garza was on the Yankees right now as their #2 (which he would be this year), and there was a Beckett vs Garza match up, I guarantee you would favor Garza over Beckett.

    But what? The way I see it, the Orioles are not for real. They're dive bombing right now, and fast. So, if we know that the O's aren't for real and they will be a 4th or 5th place team come September, then we should be hoping they will steal a game or two from a team who will likely be in the chase come September. See what I mean? I'd rather be 2 games back on both the Rays and the Orioles than to be 1 back on the Orioles and 3 back on the Rays.
