  1. Want to hear something even more amazing?? He has virtually no split. Vs RHP: .390/.497/.604 Vs LHP: .381/.500/.524 Ridiculous. He's gotta be a top 50 prospect in the mid-season update.
  2. The guy gets on base at an elite level. He may not hit a lot of bombs, but that doesn't mean he's not valuable. His OBP is .445 this year overall, and is .487 vs RHP. Man. Think about that for a second. He's getting on base every other at bat vs RHP. Incredible.
  3. Why? He destroys RHP. Hitting .298 with a .953 OPS vs RHP this year.
  4. Getting really tired of seeing Middlebrooks only play once every 3 games.
  5. Sunday, June 3rd: Red Sox 3 games out of 1st place Friday, June 8th (after going 1-3 in last 4): Red Sox 3 games out of 1st place We are in no worse shape than we were after the loss on Sunday. That doesn't happen very often. Take advantage of that.
  6. How is taking today off any different than the off day they had on Monday? I understand you want to sit him to get him out of the lineup against a LHP, but who replaces him, Marlon Byrd? Are you really advocating that we have a better chance to win tonight with Byrd in the lineup than Gonzo? I don't think Adrian think's he's the manager. Maybe if the back ups weren't Sweeney (who is awful vs LHP) and Byrd, he'd take a seat for a day. But the way the roster is constructed right now, the team is in too bad of shape to take one of the most potent bats out of it.
  7. Well, do you want Gonzo to get out of his slump or do you just want to sit him? The more games he doesn't play, the more games it will be until he is back to normal. The good thing is that, with him, he could bust out of it at any minute and just go on a complete tear.
  8. Well, it's not like he hasn't had a day off. He had Monday off, like the rest of the guys. I'm not sure how that would be any different than taking a day off when they have a game.
  9. Actually playing is the best way to get out of your slump. You hit out of slumps. You don't just sit out a game and then suddenly are better
  10. We are missing the MVP of position players last year. We are missing our closer. We are missing Crawford, say what you want about him but he's an impact player. And instead, we're playing a bunch of journeymen. I'm sorry. But if you think this is our team, you're delusional. It's nothing against you, it's just realistic. You're being pessimistic because we lost. The season isn't trashed or won in every single game.
  11. It's not the roster that we're GOING to have the rest of the year. Everyone has sang the same tune all year. Stay close until the reinforcements get back. That would be Ells and Crawford. Now that Bard is down in AAA getting his s*** together, he'll probably go to the bullpen. That helps the bullpen. Bailey comes back, that helps the bullpen. Ross comes back. That helps this team. Ryan Kalish went yard again tonight. That helps this team. They don't have to be in 1st place right now. They just need to stay close, which is exactly what they're doing. It sucks that they've lost 3 straight, but fortunately the AL East leading Rays have lost the past 2 nights as well. So, even though we've lost the past 2 games to the O's, we're in no worse shape than we were coming into this series. Win tomorrow, stay close. And if you don't believe me about the whole "stay close" philosophy, take a look at our September/October schedule. 3 v TOR 3 v NYY 3 @ TOR 4 @ TB 3 v BAL 2 v TB 3 @ BAL 3 @ NYY Thats the last 24 games of the season right there. You don't think, if we stay close like we're doing, that we can't pick up games in September with a full bullpen and healthy roster, likely with Pedroia hitting as well as Gonzo? If you don't think so, then you're just delusional.
  12. Boy that's as frustrating as it gets. f*** you, Byrd, you piece of s***.
  13. Just need baserunners. That's all.
  14. Bad news. 11-14 isn't encouraging either. Lose Lose situation.
  15. Salty McDonald Byrd due up. Which I would assume translates to Salty Nava Sweeney.
  16. What a wasted start by Beckett.
  17. Pitiful. Embarrassing. Pathetic.
  18. Not sure why you swing there after he walks 2 consecutive batters. Bit of a rookie mistake.
  19. Lets go WMB. Shoot that RF Gap!!!
  20. Take a first strike. He walks a ton of hitters.
  21. Not to be a downer, but does anyone have confidence in Pedroia or Youk this inning??
  22. At least Nava makes f***ing contact with the ball. 4 K's in 29 PA's.
  23. All he had to do was make contact. That's it. Just contact. They should have just let Shoppach hit for Byrd.
  24. Get rid of that f***ing piece of s*** Byrd. Seriously. He's now cost us FOUR losses by himself.
