  1. Great. That's exactly what I want. Let's finally see Crawford get right and then go blast his head with trade rumors. Awesome.
  2. I'm sorry man. Kevin Youkilis is not going to be the difference between whether we make the PS or not. Not by a long shot. By this logic, the remaining losses attributed to the other 158 games hold no water on our final record. We won't make or miss a PS because of 1 player on a team that we played 4 games. I'm not saying thats what you're arguing, I think that's what a700 is arguing.
  3. Exactly. When you're in a pitchers duel, and you get Crawford or Ells on 1st, that's turned into a double, potentially even a triple. They can swipe 2nd, or hell, Ellsbury tagged up from 1st on a deep fly ball last night. And it doesn't take a ringing single to get them on 1st. Crawford had 2 infield hits last night. Stole 2nd on 1, stole 3rd on the other after being moved on a ground ball. I mean honestly, there's very little difference between an infield hit and a SB vs a Double. They have the ability to completely change the game with their legs. If anything, we're going to see the significance even more in low scoring games, not slug fests.
  4. What does it matter?? It doesn't matter. You don't forego making a trade because you're scared about playing them in a week. That's ridiculous.
  5. Lester has averaged 203 IP over the past 4 seasons. He threw 191.2 IP last year, missing 200 IP for the first time since he had a full time SP job. Beckett threw 193 IP. He missed it by a start. You're splitting hairs.
  6. You want to know why this team is struggling right now?? 1. Jon Lester had a 3.33 ERA over the 4 seasons prior to this, encompassing over 800 IP. This year? He's got a 4.80 ERA 2. Josh Beckett had a 3.83 ERA over the past 5 seasons, encompassing over 900 IP. This year? He's got a 4.44 ERA. 3. Clay Buchholz had a 3.10 ERA over the past 3 seasons, encompassing 350 IP. This year? He's got a 5.54 ERA. It's not that the Red Sox didn't have the horses. They have the horses. You just can't expect your top 3 to all have ERA's that balloon 50% or more compared to how they've thrown in recent years.
  7. You want any impact SP last offseason via trade? Say goodbye to Middlebrooks and say hello to constant drama between Youkilis and Valentine. You want the Sox to go out and dump more big money on guys like Mark Buehrle (5.1 K/9)? He would get hammered at Fenway as a soft throwing LHP. You want the Sox to go out and get Roy Oswalt? They tried, first off, and 2nd off, he's got a 6.26 ERA. What pitcher did you want the Red Sox to get in the offseason??
  8. It's not that we didn't have the pitching. It's that the pitching that we have is underperforming to an unbelievable degree.
  9. Lester is unbearable. I cannot stand watching him anymore.
  10. Ugh. Eat s***, Lester. That was a complete piece of s*** outing. Absolutely terrible.
  11. Dammit Lester. Absolutely pathetic.
  12. Papi. Take off your boot.
  13. If there was 1 thing that Crawford was good at last year, it was walk off hits.
  14. Why wouldn't you PH Ross there? I mean honestly. What's the point in not PH there.
  15. sheesh NESN. Chill the hell out with the cameras. You're going to give me a freaking seizure.
  16. Great job V. Don't worry about letting Ross split up the LHP. Nava has a sub .550 OPS vs LHP. We're down by freaking 4 runs. What the hell are you doing?!?
  17. Why, exactly, isn't Cody Ross PH here again???
  18. 2 games into the season, Crawford's average is 2X higher than it ever was in 2011.
  19. Ugh. We took Morales out of the rotation so he could mop up in a 4 run game?!?
