  3. A source told Brian Costa of the Wall Street Journal that the Yankees are not on Francisco Rodriguez's no-trade list. The source told Costa that when K-Rod chose the teams, he did so based on which teams he wouldn’t want to play for, even if those teams would be unlikely to trade for him. In many cases, players have large-market teams on their no-trade list in order to secure some degree of leverage. Therefore, that the Yankees aren't on his list is notable. While the Bombers reportedly don't have interest right now, they could if Rafael Soriano doesn't progress from an elbow injury.
  4. Carlos Beltran said accepting a trade to the Red Sox would be a "no-brainer." Beltran will be a free agent after this season upon completion of his seven-year, $119 million deal with the Mets. Beltran has a full no-trade clause and was asked if he would waive it to join Boston. "They're in first place," he said. "That's a no-brainer." Red Sox sources, however, said they won't have much money to spend this summer in order to upgrade the roster. Beltran is owed more than $6 million during the second half of the season. The outfielder is hitting .285/.377/.503 with 13 homers and 58 RBI in 377 plate appearances. He leads the league with 28 doubles.
