SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Rockies have asked the Yankees for catcher Jesus Montero, starter Ivan Nova and New York's top two pitching prospects — Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances -- in return for Ubaldo Jimenez.
Although Jimenez is a great piece, New York won't offer anything close to that. Jimenez is under team control through 2013 at a cheap price, but the Yankees won't give up the world for him. NBC's Matthew Pouliot suggests a realistic deal between the clubs could involve Montero, Betances and a lesser prospect.
