The Red Sox are really bad because they’ve made some bad moves. It all started with Lester. He would have taken lesser money to stay here. But, they insulted the guy. Then when he got frustrated with their blatant insults, they trade him away. That ended all hoped of him ever coming back here.
What they got back for him was actually good in Cespedes. A broken clock is right twice a day. He is hitting 300, with 9 home runs this year. Who wouldn’t want that on this team right now?
But, Ben has to counter a good move with at least two bad moves. So, he traded a good outfielder away for Rick Porcello: a guy who had one pretty good year. Porcello is no more then a 4th man in a rotation. But, let’s give him 80 million dollars before he pitches one game for us. Let’s not bother seeing if he can build on a good year last year or that he can even pitch in a big market like Boston. Let’s not consider he could be like A.J Burnett and only able to pitch well in a less stressful market.
Oh, no, we’re not done yet. We need to make this rotation really laughable. Let’s go get Justin Masterson. A guy who was so bad, Cleveland didn’t even want him and Wade Miley, the man who had two good years. But, in 2014, he was awful.
Nobody should have expected this to go any different than it has gone. The front office went out and filled a rotation with 4th and 5th rotational pitchers and tried to fix our offense with power instead of players who get on base.
