  1. V-Mart is going to get alott of attention this offseason. Detroit just let Laird walk. Colorado has been linked already. Resigning him is not a lock.
  2. Still say no to Beltran. When was the last time Beltran went a season uninjured. Heck when was the last time he played more than a half season. Not denying his capabilities when healthy. After a season marred with injuries. The last thing that fixes anything is acquiring an injury prone player.
  3. He hasn't been the same pitcher since the ALCS against tampa. Bust and extremely bad contract. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Funny how he and Burnett have gone down the same path at the same point in there career.
  4. What a disgrace. From the starting line-up put on the field. To this so called performance put on by Dice-K. People still payed good money for tickets to the game. That is what you put on the Diamond.
  5. No real surprises in that interview. Think he is wrong about Lackey and Beckett for that matter. Made a good point about Papelbon. Let's hope he fixes the Bullpen somehow, and see what happens with the free agents.
  6. Stay away from Beltran. Good grief. If you think J.D. Drew is injury prone. Don't have a problem with trying to move Dice-K at all. Lets just get a better return than that.
  7. Not a big fan of J.D Drew. He is very talented. To injury prone. Can't stand his approach at the plate. He has one of the sweetest swings in the game. Yet he refuses to hack at hittable pitches on the edge of the strike zone. When he goes opposite field he is one of the better hitters in the game. The problem is getting him to hit opposite field. Yet somehow at the end of the season he always seems yo have decent numbers. My problem is he could have oustanding numbers if he lived up to his talent.
  8. Good thread . My top ten would right now would be. 1. Ryan Kalish 2. Anthony Rizzo 3. Ryan Lavernway 4. Jose Iglesias 5. Casey Kelly 6. Anthony Ranaudo 7. Josh Reddick 8. Kolbrin Vitek 9. Will Middlebrooks 10. Jeremy Hazelbaker (Ryan Westmoreland) Several guys real close would be Doubrant, Anderson, Exposito, Workman, Britton, Pimental, Brentz, Fuentes.
  9. The should have tried to trade him at the deadline. We where still in it then though so that could go both ways. He'll comand over ten million in Arbitration. You could fill more than one spot in the bullpen with that. Or you could just go after Soriano and weaken the Rays in the process. Keep Bard as the set up guy for another year or two. Paps does need to go. Judging by his interview after the game he doesn't seam to care.
  10. We have the second Highest payroll in Baseball. How exactly is that not spending s***?
  11. Scutaro hasn't been that bad considering he's been getting injections for a stiff neck all season, and has had a bad right shoulder the last month. That's alott better than Lugo who couldn't hit first or turn a double play when healthy.
  12. Amen! Finally a voice of reason.
  13. For all the moves we've made the past severall years. How much better did it actually make us? Talkin trade deadline and waiver wire moves now. Not very! We brought in Martinez last year. Who is by far the worst defensive catcher I've ever seen. Gagne was a mistake, and I sure do wish David Murphy was an option. Bay and maybe Wagner are about the only moves we've made that have amounted to anything. At least since the Garciaparra trade. So What difference does it really make? I guess they shoud just make some type of move just to do it. That way they can be like Nike.
  14. Reddick is on fire right now in Pawtucket. 4 homeruns in Three days. The other night he went five for five. Rizzo is most lokely the top offensive prospect right now though overall. Either he or Lavernway.
  15. Threw in the towell? Despite having half the freakin team on the D.L. throughout the year. This so called bad franchise is only five games back from the wild card. Not bad considering. So they made no waiver or trade deadline moves this year. So what!
  16. I think your exactly right on this one. That is the right direction for them to go as well.
  17. I know there where threats to his family because he didn't leave town immediately after he signed with the Yankees. There are always a few idiots that do things like that that are uncalled for. I surely am glad he decided to stay in Detroit though. We didn't need him.
  18. Yeah sure glad to see that Varitek. Who is on the D.L. Ortiz who does nothing but D.H. Last but not least Wakefield who is no longer a starting pitcher want him back. Just makes you feel all warm and cozy on the inside to know all the soon to be retired players want Damon back for one more small shot at Glory before the end.
  19. There batting numbers a very close considering Damon has 314 more at bats this season. At this stage in his career Damon is not the power hitter he used to be. I don't count last year where he was hitting fly balls for home runs in short right field in Yankee stadium. I wouldn't go as far to say that Nava will never start for anyone. If Damon plays anything other than DH next season for anyone that Team has made a big mistake. Not discounting what Damon has done throughout his career. He has been a great ballplayer. He is not anywhere close to that player anymore.
  20. Unless Damon is nothing more than a DH. Yes I bench him in Favor of Nava. For the Record Nava has a pretty good bat as well. Damon won't be taking over the DH spot for Papi.
  21. Nobody said they where looking for a big prospect. I hope he doesn't. We don't need him. He's a liability defensively.
  22. Absolutely right Kalish should be playing. Why we pull him against lefties is beyond comprehension. He actually had better numbers against lefties in Pawtucket. Nava should also be playing alott more. I wouldn't trade my bag of Dorito's for Damon right now.
  23. That would just be another dumb wasted move. If anyone just watched what Kalish did. Damon can't do that.
