  1. Well...time for Plan C.... http://jupiter.smugmug.com/Disney/Walt-Disney-World-2007-1/WDW-217/212231531_rue6K-S-1.jpg
  2. Lol. Analogies of Jeter being a used up woman make my day.
  3. I'd do a package of Ellsbury/Doubront/Reddick/ and throw in Papelbon (with his 2011 salary covered). Now before anyone jumps down my throat for proposing Paps, hear me out. Even though his value is low, he could have a bounceback year in 2011. So much to the point that teams in need of a closer would sell the farm for him. This would benefit the D-Backs in two ways: 1)NL team that can use an AL East proven closer if they are in the thick of things OR 2)Serve as a valuable trade chip at the deadline or net them a couple of picks if he walks in FA next winter. Then we turn around and sign another closer like Soriano to make up for the loss of Paps AND we get to keep Kalish.
  4. Sox to interview former A's pitching coach Curt Young: http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/news/story?id=5729620 And according to the article, it seems like he's the front runner for the job.
  5. The one thing that I don't get is that if next year's draft is so deep, why are we worrying about hanging onto our 1st round picks? More than likely some prospects will fall because of signability issues, so we can just pick 'em up and sign like we did Ranuado. Plus, we got a hell of a draft haul as it is from the 2010 draft (Ranaudo, Workman, Vitek, etc.), so why worry? When you let the draft picks dictate what you do in free agency, you're asking for trouble. I say we go after the Werths and the Downs of this year's crop, and worry about the 1st round picks in 2012.
  6. One spaz for another? No thank you.
  7. If we did end up trading Dice-K, who would replace him? Wakefield is clearly over the hill and although Doubront shows promise, he's more effective in the bullpen until he irons out his mistakes (which were more profound when he was a SP).
  8. Hmmm...apparently the Pads are looking to trade Bell: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/09/padres-could-put-bell-back-on-trade-market.html Even though he's 33, I'd like to trade for him and sign him to a 1yr deal with a team option for 2012. If Papelbon starts s***ing the bed again in 2011, we can have Bell step in. There's also the possibility of having him pitch the 8th in place of Bard once in a while so his arm doesn't fall off.
  9. This was by far the BEST win for the Red Sox this season. Total gut check and all heart and effort with a banged up lineup and in enemy territory no less. Awesome job guys!
  10. I like the sound of that lineup. And by the time Drew and Cameron leave, Reddick would hopefully be ready to man RF and Nava could be the 4th OF.
  11. So in your scenario, between Kalish, Werth, Drew, and Cameron, who would play what?
  12. At this point, even if the only compensation we'd get for them would be a bag of balls, just f***ing do it. A scarecrow would be an improvement over that bust Hermida.
  13. I think it's best (aside from a few MINOR moves) if we stand pat this year. While we have recovered to a degree from our injuries, we're running out of the most important thing: time. With only 60 or so games left, and both the Rays and Yankees 6.5-7.5 games ahead of us for both the WC and division, it makes more sense to see what we have internally. If we end up making the post-season, great. If we don't, no big deal, given the situation we're in this season. I also heard that Doubront and Bowden could be called up fairly soon to play through the bullpen. Hopefully this means that MDC and Okajima's days are numbered.
  14. Where would Dunn fit? We already have a DH and a 1B, both of whom are pretty darn good.
  15. One word: Project
  16. Thought everyone might want to see this(if was mentioned during the game, I apologize): From ESPN game recap: LOL!
  17. In our last series against the Rays, only Dice-K pitched. The other starters were Wakefield and Doubront. You are right, though, about the Rangers series.
  18. Benedict-Lackey mojo=WIN http://60feet-6inches.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/John-Lackey.jpg
  19. How about Scott Atchinson who was warming up in the BP?
  20. DFA Ramirez, MDC, and Okajima. No more f***ing excuses. It's been three years or so. If they haven't f***ing gotten a clue by now, they never f***ing will. Just call up Bowden and Richardson and address this abortion of a bullpen in the offseason. f***!!!!!!!!!
  21. Dopey fresh Dice-K mojo=WIN http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nzC-CcvFD0Q/S6wMvL8LXcI/AAAAAAAAAYE/bUZfPIAo9HI/s1600/dicek.jpg

  23. Sorry about last night guys. I went up to the lake for the weekend and there was no internet where I was. I was gonna make a post on the game thread for Beckett's start but we left as soon as I woke up.
