  1. I'm genuinely happy for Aubrey Huff. For what it's worth, I was a big advocate of the Sox getting him when it became clear that Millar was on the outs. Wilson is genuinely an odd-seeming dude. Crazy f***er. Good for him. Lincecum in the muscle t-shirt looking like that kid in high school who drinks 'Gansetts down at the pit on Friday nights. This is a likeable National League team. Here's hoping we bust their butts in next year's World Series.
  2. Sorry if die-hard Alcoholics Anonymous supporters are offended, but I for one am very relieved to see booze being consumed to celebrate a World Series win. Somehow just ginger ale doesn't freaking cut it. This is America, God damn it!
  3. Congratulations, Giants. That team was a TEAM and went out and won it. I love seeing that in baseball! But back to those West Coast fans. So mildly polite in their celebration! Sorry, can't get over that image. Shed some tears! Jump up and down like an utter buffoon! The only fan in that shot was the 90 year-old woman who was wetting her Depends, God bless her. Disappointing. I expected more from ye, City of San Fran.
  4. f***ing California...those fans look like they just won a bowling tourney, not the first World Series in that City--EVER! I hate the West Coast.
  5. I'm calling it. Nellie goes yard here.
  6. At least Josh Hamilton has his Lord and Savior though!
  7. I'm always sad when it's conceivably the last half-inning of the entire baseball season. Then I think about the Patriots and everything seems right with the world.
  8. Can you guys believe that Aubrey Huff is on the verge of winning the World Series? Holy s***!
  9. I think it's worth pointing out here that a San Francisco Giants' offense got to Cliff Lee in the postseason. Twice. In really, really big games. Does this fact affect the Cliff Lee bidding wars on the horizon? After all, it's a big fat failed season in the Bronx if a season doesn't result in a World Series Championship!
  10. Nice ad campaign for the Windows/AT&T phone, but that baby with the sippy cup needs to be holding a bottle of Jack Daniels instead, and then it'd really be memorable.
  11. Gutsy World Series so far for Cruz offensively. Funny that he's afraid of getting hit by the ball in the field though.
  12. Vlad sucks in big spots when he swings at utter trash. He's infuriating to watch.
  13. I think you're all taking a lot away from the San Francisco Giants by implying that their pitching hasn't completely dominated this very good Texas Rangers offense, which is a huge accomplishment. Texas' weak offense in this series has been less that they've fallen flat and more a credit to the amazing performances of this young and dominant San Fran pitching staff. Give credit where credit's due, baseball fans!
  14. EDGAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Think that in this innings, the Texans are finally starting to understand what makes baseball such a great game?
  16. The Randy Moss news actually completely distracted me today from the impact/significance of this World Series game. But back to baseball... Here's a very big moment in this game/season.
  17. Jesus, what an athletic play by Lee. Now watch him get out of this inning. If he does? Just...epic!
  18. I'm so tired of people slamming this World Series. Jesus Christ. I'm as disappointed as anyone about the Sox not getting to the postseason this year, but this has to be the best of all possible worlds: The Yankees getting eliminated by TEXAS without it going seven games? San Francisco beating out the Phillies, so that all the obnoxious Philadelphia fans can take their newfound baseball arrogance and shove it up their collective asses? Matchups of some of the best pitchers in baseball? San Fran, a great city, on the verge (touch wood) of winning it all for the first time since the franchise first moved to the Golden State? Come on, people, this has been a great World Series thus far, with two extremely deserving franchises battling it out. I know Texas' bats have grown cold, but here's hoping they wake up tonight, Cliff Lee wins tonight, and San Fran gets to win it at home. Man, San Fran would be a phenomenal town to party in the night of their first WS victory. Great bars, great cocktails, great people...smart people...and a great atmosphere all around. That whole city is behind that team--plus, it's a real city, unlike Arlington, TX--it's just got to end up being San Fran's. Here's hoping...
  19. Oh wow, that was fun! Celts looked good. Heat looked like s***. The latter look like the kind of team that (a) in the first half was a squad of superstars afraid to shoot the ball, and ( in the second half was a squad of superstars who ALL wanted to shoot the ball. Having Shaq provides a rebounding wall when he's in the game, which is exactly what the C's need. Someone to draw fouls, clamp down, and be a beast in the key when needed. Nice. The C's are unstoppable when they: (a) swing the ball and nail the outside jumpers when they get good looks; ( take it to the hoop; © control the tempo; (d) have the diversity of the Allen/Pierce/Rondo on the court to go to. The C's look vulnerable when they: (a) take too long to get the right shot; this happens more often than it should' ( play conservatively; © rush 10-foot jumpers; (d) fail to rebound. Tonight they played a team that will have gelled by the All-Star game and be very dominant in the East. But tonight was a splendid reminder that the magic the Celts' Big Three accomplished a couple years back and came close to repeating last spring (f*** the Lakers and that bimbo tramping the trophy) is not something that's automatic. If Lebron thinks this season and his future's a given, he's got another thing coming. FTL. FTH. Go Celts!
