  1. I just am rather radical on the catcher issue, I never draft catchers early, in fact I've never drafted a catcher in the top 100 of a fantasy draft before
  2. The difference in production between a catcher who goes in the 15th round and those 2nd/3rd round catchers is probably .010-.025 on the average, a bit of defense, and 5 home runs or so...it just isn't worth it to pick catchers that early IMO The different between 2nd/3rd round pitchers and 15th round pitchers is almost a run on the ERA
  3. Anyways, I agree that Morneau/Teixeira/CC/Carpenter/Morneau are arguable due to their salaries, but I just look at it differently from some others Reaches are going to be much easier for me to do, please don't feel insulted by these because they are just my opinion Daric Barton (#81) - He may have a favorable salary, but I think there are a ton of better players still available Jeremy Hellickson (#67) - He's really unproven and there's no guarantee that he even makes the Rays rotation this year, they have a lot of good pitchers Pablo Sandoval (#47) - He really wasn't all that good last year, he was an average third baseman at best, average third baseman shouldn't go in the top 50 IMO Ervin Santana (#57) - He hasn't proved nearly enough to be considered as a #1 pitcher on a respectable team, I think there were better available options when he was drafted Brian McCann (#16) - I have a thing with not drafting catchers not named Joe Mauer in the top 30 picks of a draft, because catcher statistics after Joe Mauer are so random, McCann is consistent for a catcher, but he puts up similar statistics to other position players who will go in the 100's, I just think this is too early for a catcher not named Joe Mauer Buster Posey (#24) - Read above ^^^, plus he's rather unproven, it was less than a full season of success Victor Martinez (#36) - He can barely play a good catcher anymore, he's better at first base, and at first base he's not a top 15 hitter by any regards Dan Uggla (#37) - He's really a one dimensional player, I know it's a shallow position, but he doesn't do much other than hit homers, and he's a terrible fielder Billy Butler (#45) - The 6th first baseman to go, and not a top 10 first baseman in the league BJ Upton (#77) - He hasn't hit for power or average for a couple of years now, he gets a lot of steals and plays good defense, but he doesn't get on base enough to warrant this pick in the top 100 Alright, that was my take. Any opinions?
  4. Please refrain from talking about people not yet drafted In a 15 team draft with $110 million salary cap, a couple of high salary picks are not going to hurt you, and when you can get a top 10 pitcher or top 5 first baseman in the league after the third round, IMO it will be a steal Weaver went after a few people I thought him better than, and I might overrate Cain and Weaver because they were instrumental parts to me winning my fantasy baseball league last year - I have a habit of overrating people on my fantasy teams
  5. Sorry for the wait, I had to go down and eat lunch
  6. In no particular order Steals Pick #21: Josh Johnson - I was expecting him to go top 5, in fact he went #1 in the last redraft I did Pick #34: Kevin Youkilis - Probably a top 5 first basemen in the league when you factor in defense - and has the versatility to play 3B as well Pick #38: Jered Weaver - Flat out beast, top 10 pitcher in baseball IMO, and not a big salary either Pick #43: Matt Cain - gives Lincecum a run for his money as best pitcher on the team Pick #49: CC Sabathia - forget the salary, he is arguably the biggest workhouse in the majors, and he puts up nice numbers in the stacked AL East as well Pick #53: Mat Latos - Put up fantastic numbers last year and comes with a small price tag Pick #62: Justin Morneau - another guy who competes to be a top 5 first baseman in the league - he does everything other than steal bases Pick #63: Chris Carpenter - I hate to compliment myself, but I think he should gone much earlier considering his success the last two years, another potential top 10 pitcher Pick #71: Justin Upton - steal of the draft IMO, people forgot about him I guess, I did too, but he's a real 5 tool player with a ton of upside Pick #80: Mark Teixeira - despite his huge salary, he's a fantastic first baseman I know I didn't value salary in as much as I probably should have, I mean a lot of these guys make a lot of money, but I still envisioned them going much earlier Reaches to come soon
  7. In a little while, I'm going to post what I think were the top 10 steals of the draft thus far and the top 10 reaches thus far, unless anyone has any objections
  8. I have by 1-2-3-4 already but if a certain somebody is left I might be forced to take a pitcher next round
  9. Holy s***...I completely forgot about him That was a fantastic pick
  10. Damn...I was surprised by the Hellickson pick...he's rather unproven IMO...but the salary is definitely nice Who's up?
  11. Screw you, he was going to be my next pick
  12. I seriously considered Carpenter in the 2nd, but decided not to go after him due to his large salary But I couldn't pass that up in the 5th
  13. Yeah, I actually did fall into a toilet...I'd rather not enclose the details I'm absolutely stunned he's available, but here goes for the best rotation of all time... Chris Carpenter, SP 14.5M
  14. I would send in my picks, but I should be here basically all day and I am going to base my next pick off of will and divinity
  15. My next pick is going to a tough one for me...there's a few people I'm considering
  16. I think that if anybody is skipped, they should be skipped until their picks are made up...that's what I've done in all my other redrafts
  17. I'm up now Trevor Cahill 0.41M
  18. Again, I don't usually get on until like 12 or 1 since I sleep in over break, so I would have to PM somebody my pick. I'm really split between two people, so I wouldn't actually mind if exman made that decision for me lol
  19. Should we continue and skip him if he's on vacation?
  20. I certainly understand the logic behind it, but he's rather underrated, usually more so that Pujols, Longoria, or a top of the line pitcher - for example, he went #15 in the last redraft I did
  21. I don't know how trading works. In all the baseball redrafts I've done on other sites there has been trading during the draft, but I'm not so sure here
  22. My guess on the top 10 based on the last redraft I did would be... 1. Pujols 2. Felix 3. Halladay 4. Josh Johnson 5. Longoria 6. Wainwright 7. Cliff Lee 8. Tulo 9. Hanley 10. Lester
  23. Exman is I was hoping Alexei made it until later in the draft I think I got him in the 18th in the last one lol
