  1. Honestly, I don't see the need to trade for Lee right now if you're the Yankees Other than Burnett their whole rotation is pitching great
  2. I'd have to say that is North Korea. And yeah, these guys will likely not be treated too well upon return to North Korea.
  3. France was terrible during qualifiers, although they were very good last World Cup it wasn't that big of a surprise that they have sucked With a win and an England tie or win, the United States have a very good shot at the #1 seed, which would give them a good chance at the quarterfinals. They should have 4 points as far as I'm concerned (there was no reason to take their 3rd goal away from them, that ref was an idiot), but I still think they qualify

    The AL East

I hate the Angels because they always find a way to beat the Yankees (except last year), and they find themselves in the playoffs every year no matter what
  5. That's an incredible story, especially for a guy who is not known to hit home runs. It must have been a very emotional moment for him when he hit it.
  6. Other than one breakout year, this is what BJ Upton has been doing over the last couple of years, besides for his even lower average this year
  7. I think they should stop bringing him into games where the score differential is less than four runs
  8. I could see Rivera still pitching like this for another 5 years, I hope they continue to resign him until he simply can't pitch well anymore Then get Papelbon
  9. 8 down, if I have to I'll made it 10 teams

    The AL East

I'm not saying that there's something wrong with any of the teams, the problem is that at this rate, a top 5 team in the majors will get excluded from the playoffs every year
  11. Seven teams down, 5-9 to go. I'll wait until we hit 16 teams or until we hit 12 teams if that takes 3 days or more
  12. No management, but after the draft there is a bracket where you vote, and analyze why you voted that way (and you can try to convince other teams to vote for you) I mean you have to put your lineup in order from 1-9, and set up your pen as LR - MR -MR - SU - SU -CL But that's it

    The AL East

Yeah my bad, I misunderstood the link
  14. Strasburg has been very impressive, but I want to see him play a good lineup, that would really prove himself

    The AL East

This is the site I was looking at: http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005/01/tampa-bay-devil-rays_112131227267025321.html It had Bartlett too I missed him And James Shields is not he's a FA 2011
  16. Updated Anyone who wants to help run it feel free to volunteer (looking for 2 people to help; someone who mods this site would be even better since they would have editing powers)
  17. So Drew, Ellsbury, and Cameron are all injured? That sucks for the Sox

    The AL East

Yeah, I don't expect it to change I think that the Rays will be less of a force after this year, Carl Crawford, Carlos Pena, James Shields, Matt Garza, Rafael Soriano, Jeff Niemann, and BJ Upton are all FA this year, I really doubt that they can resign the majority of them as most will probably want to make more than they did this year And the AL Central and West divisions are a joke, the Twins are the only impact team in the central and the records in the West are never impressive As the salary cap goes, that would be hard to institute because market sizes are a huge factor. Teams like the Marlins, Rays, Padres, Guardians, A's, Nationals don't have large markets and will never have high payrolls, and cities like New York, Philly, LA, Boston will continue to have huge markets. If a salary cap is introduced payrolls will come down most likely unless the salary cap is a high one
  19. There is seriously something wrong with this division. It is so stacked that it currently has the top 3 teams in baseball recordwise (Rays, Yankees, Sox) and the Jays are close behind The possibility of a team with the 3rd or 4th record in baseball not making the playoffs is ridiculous. A possible splitting of the division of trading of teams between the AL and NL East would make sense if the Rays weren't going to lose most of their team this offseason (and over the next couple of years) due to no market
  20. He's been impressive over the last month, hopefully this surge continues He lost yesterday but threw seven solid innings, the Yankees just got shut out
  21. His excuse will continue to be that he still didn't take steroids While, I think that he should be in the hall of fame, I disagree that corking his bats is okay since it doesn't actually help If you cheat on a test off somebody who fails, and you fail as a result and get caught and get a 0, you could argue that you would have done better if you HADN'T cheated, but the reality is that you were trying to get an edge the wrong way and are guilty
  22. My Analysis on the Entire American League 1st Base 1.Justin Morneau He's been good, not as good as Cabrera though 2.Mark Teixeira Yeah he probably shouldn't be here 3.Miguel Cabrera He's been sick, he should be #1 4.Kevin Youkilis He's been sick as well, probably should be #2 5.Carlos Pena Half of his hits are like HR's haha, well not really but it seems like it Honorable Mentions (people who should be up here but aren't): Paul Konerko Ty Wigginton, he's been pretty good and WILL make it because one person from each team in the MLB has to make and NO one else on the Orioles has been good 2nd Base 1.Robinson Cano He's been godly 2.Dustin Pedroia He's been alright 3.Ian Kinsler A big name but a guy who isn't playing too well 4.Orlando Hudson On the DL, not bad when off of it 5.Ben Zobrist He's been pretty good, he's actually probably been the 2nd best 2B in the AL so far 3rd Base 1.Evan Longoria He's absolutely GODLY 2.Alex Rodriguez Been pretty good but not necessarily #2 worthy 3.Michael Young He's been really good, he'll probably get in as a backup 4.Adrian Beltre He's been pretty good as well, not as good as Young though 5.Nick Punto Yeah, what's he doing here? Shortstop 1.Derek Jeter Having another solid year, best AL SS 2.Elvis Andrus Close 2nd to being the best SS 3.J.J. Upton No, he's hitting like .240 11.Michael Cuddyer Been decent, not top 15 though 12.Bobby Abreu no 13.Denard Span no 14.Magglio Ordonez been great, possible bench player 15.Austin Jackson no, has sucked since start SUPER EPIC HONORABLE MENTION: Alex Rios, the best outfielder in the MAJORS THIS SEASON, WTF IS HE NOT DOING STARTING Honorable: Jose Bautista is on pace for about 40 HR, but he's wearing off I'll do the NL later, this was time consuming My starting lineup: Crawford LF Jeter SS Longoria 3B Miggy 1B Cano 2B Vlad DH Hamilton CF Mauer C Rios RF
  23. It will be free, a baseball league that is done on here. Each team has 8 hours to draft a player before they are skipped. You are building a real team with 8 fielding positions + DH, a lineup, a 5 man rotation, a 6 man bullpen (1 closer) and a 5 man bench It is not like fantasy baseball because defense and relievers (who are not closers) are also valued. Important stats to keep in mind while picking: hitting - avg, ops (obp + slg), hr, xbh, rbi, runs, sb, bb/k's defense - uzr, WAR, errors (not as important), assists (for OFers) starting pitching - era, whip, quality starts, k/bb ratio, wins (minor) relievers - era, whip, holds, saves, k/bb Keep in mind, this year is valued in picking, but 2008 and 2009 numbers are also valued. Last year is probably the most important. For example, Albert Pujols has more value than Miguel Cabrera even though Cabrera has been better so far this year At the end, we vote (through a bracket) on which teams are the best and have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd I'm looking for 12-16 teams, anyone who would like to help me manage can feel free to 1. YRTB 2. Suns 3. GITC (Flynnatic) 4. Dipre 5. Divinity 6. italstallianion 7. jbay44 8. whiskeybreath 9. youker20 10. robiforMVP
