  1. .273 isn't a pretty good average, and I put it as a push. Even if you consider CC and Wainwright even, Latos has been absolutely dominant, he's been the best pitcher in his entire division this year, the whole sneezing think was just an excuse for the team to limit his innings And that doesn't explain how Franklin > Adams, K-Rod than Kuo, and Brian Wilson than Andrew Bailey. You have the better lineup, but I have the better rotation and bullpen, and pitching wins championships
  2. I just checked MLB.com and noticed that the Sox are still 5 1/2 games back
  3. One postseason is a rather small sample size and Pettitte is not the pitcher he used to be, his stats are due for a correction in that his BABIP has been ridiculously low (near .250) and his FIP as of late June(corrected ERA when BABIP is valued in) is 3.73 And is making the all star team a good measure of how good a player is? Yeah, Omar Infante is a hell of a lot better than Joey Votto and Carlos Gonzalez Elvis Andrus is batting .273 with no homers, the only thing he's doing well is stealing bases
  4. Well, if you factor in the part he has played in the Yankees most recent 5 world series and his being a captain and one of the few athletes in major league baseball with his type of superstardom that hasn't been involved in steroids or any charges of any sort, then what he deserves becomes a different story I think the Yankees should offer him how much he likes, hopefully that will be less than 20 million, but I would hate to see him walk And the Yankees have the money to get Crawford and Lee no matter how much money he gets. I wouldn't mind them going after Jayson Werth either if Crawford doesn't work out
  5. The thing is, the #2 fan base a red sox forum attracts is Yankees fans, like me and yankees228 here
  6. I think Wainwright has a great shot at NL Cy Young this year
  7. SS Alexei Ramirez 1. Adam Wainwright = CC Sabathia 3. Mat Latos MR Mike Adams SU Hong Chi Kuo CL Andrew Bailey These are the ones I disagree with Andrus has sucked this year, Ramirez is a 5 tool player Wainwright is favorite for NL Cy Young, CC isn't really even in Cy Young running this year, and Wainwright has had much better numbers this year and last Pettitte wasn't good the last two years, he's been good this year but Latos has been better, Latos wasn't good last year because it was his rookie season Mike Adams has had the better ERA/WHIP numbers this year and last, and Franklin isn't suited for middle relief, he's a closer Hong Chi Kuo's ERA is below 1, he's had the better ERA/WHIP this year, last, and 2008 Bailey has had the better ERA/WHIP this year and last
  8. jasonbay44 advances to the finals
  9. How do I join?
  10. Sure, I'll do it NYGXLII........yrtb
  11. In 2008 Longoria was just starting, he's improved year to year and now is playing better than A-Rod, who isn't what he was 2 years ago. And they're not near equal on defense, last year Longoria had the highest UZR of all position players and won a gold glove But I'll change that to a push, I didn't know how much A-Rod was better in 2008 And bsox, how is Garza better than Danks?
  12. Girardi's selections weren't bad at all...A-Rod and Big Papi were questionable, but he was much better than Manuel and had all the best pitchers on the team Manuel put Omar Infante on his team and decided to leave out Joey Votto and Carlos Gonzalez, Votto has been a top 10 player in baseball this year, Gonzalez has been the best outfielder in the NL And how was Girardi supposed to know that Thornton was going to give up a 3 run double? He had been absolutely dominant in the first half
  13. I'm sorry, but we thought you had quit so we started the playoffs. If you had messaged us before your trip you could've sent in a list of players you wanted
  14. C Carlos Santana 1B Joey Votto 2B Robinson Cano > Ben Zobrist 3B Evan Longoria > A-Rod SS Alexei Ramirez push Elvis Andrus RF Nelson Cruz CF Alex Rios push Matt Kemp LF Carlos Gonzalez > Shane Victorino DH Paul Konerko 1. Adam Wainwright > CC Sabathia 2. David Price > Stephen Strasburg 3. Mat Latos > Andy Pettitte 4. John Danks > Matt Garza 5. 15. YRTB's Bronx Bombers C Carlos Santana 1B Joey Votto 2B Robinson Cano 3B Evan Longoria SS Alexei Ramirez RF Nelson Cruz CF Alex Rios LF Carlos Gonzalez DH Paul Konerko Lineup 1. Javier Vazquez Bullpen LR Kris Melden MR Dan Wheeler MR Ryan Franklin SU Brian Fuentes SU Francisco Rodriguez CL Brian Wilson Bench: Johnny Damon (LF) BJ Upton (CF) Ty Wigginton (1B,2B,3B ) AJ Burnett (SP) Mike Napoli (1B, C) My explanation for why I think you should vote for me: The hitting is very close, though divinity's might be slightly better, but I have better starters from 1-5, and pitching wins championships. I think my bullpen is better than his as well
  16. italstallion needs one more vote to advance
  17. C: Brian McCann > Miguel Olivo 1B: Justin Morneau 2B: Chase Utley > Ian Kinsler SS: Rafael Furcal push Marco Scutaro 3B: Ryan Zimmerman > Placido Polanco LF: Carl Crawford > Nick Markakis CF: Torii Hunter > Andrew McCutchen RF: Shin Soo Choo DH: Manny Ramirez SP: Zack Greinke ® SP: Roy Oswalt ® SP: Jeff Niemann ® push Clayton Kershaw SP: Ryan Dempster ® > Shaun Marcum SP: Hiroki Kuroda ® > Anibal Sanchez 7-5 ital LR: JA Happ (L) MR: Tim Stauffer ® push Kyle McClellan MR: Darren Oliver (L) push Darren O'Day SU: Neftali Feliz ® SU: Carlos Marmol ® push Daniel Bard CL: Billy Wagner (L) > Jon Broxton 8-7 ital BE: Geovany Soto C ® push Jose Molina (a backup catcher's primary job is to play good defense, and Jose Molina does that, even though he isn't a great hitter) BE: Yunel Escobar SS ® push Erick Aybar BE: Lance Berkman 1B/RF (S) BE: Rickie Weeks 2B ® > Omar Infante BE: Jorge Cantu 3B ® push Pedro Alvarez A tie for the bench I give italstallion a very small edge, on the basis that the bullpen and rotation is basically a push and he has a slightly better lineup
  18. But the problem is that the majority of America has failed to wake up and realize that Ubaldo no longer has an ERA of 1 and that he has been getting ridiculous run support
  19. Italstallion C: Brian McCann 1B: Justin Morneau 2B: Chase Utley SS: Rafael Furcal 3B: Ryan Zimmerman LF: Carl Crawford CF: Torii Hunter RF: Shin Soo Choo DH: Manny Ramirez Lineup 1.
