  1. I know, usually he gets a very generous strike zone.
  2. Man, that would be entertaining if Thames lost this game for the Yankees.
  3. Yeah, that's really the only one I know of. Have there been any significant ones?
  4. Alright, I gotta run to the store. Hopefully they don't blow the game while I'm gone. I prefer to watch them lose for some sadistic reason.
  5. Ortiz out at second because he was showboating... :thumbdown
  6. TIE GAME! THANK YOU JOBA!
  7. I agree. We're lucky it was a productive out at least though. If it was hit a little harder it would have been a double play.
  8. Things are starting to get interesting...
  9. Chamerlain's throwing 90-93 and falling behind batters. Please take advantage of that.
  10. I looked up their stats, and just to prove my point - Cervelli and Thames both currently have a BABIP over .400. Over an extended sample size, they're numbers are going to crash.
  11. Michael Kay's talking about how incredible it is that the Yankees are winning with Cervelli, Thames, Miranda and Winn. But 3 of those 4 players are vastly overperforming to the point where their production so far has been better than the regular player they're replacing. Cervelli had a .453 BABIP and a .987 OPS and a .786 AVG with RISP, Thames had a .447 BABIP and an OPS of 1.024 and Miranda currently has an OPS over 1.000 in the few games he's played.
  12. Good job Delcarmen. If we're lucky that might generate a little momentum.
  13. Good play Pedey.
  14. Nothing wrong with questioning the umpires, I don't think I would have argued with them after I got my answer and then played the game under protest. The guy likes to complain.
  15. One thing I don't like about how Francona manages Beckett (and his has nothing to do with his injury that he supposedly just got) is that Francona never takes him out of the game until he's given up 5 or 6 runs.
  16. What a surprise, Joe Girardi's complaining about something...
  17. Well, Beckett did a pretty good job getting out of that. He got two weak grounders and unfortunately one of them got through, before striking out Jeter
  18. To paraphrase, Daisuke said he knew what was wrong last night, but wasn't going to tell the media and Martinez said that he's not the guy who throws the pitches or has the final say on what Daisuke's going to throw. As for Lowell, he said that he may consider asking for a trade if he doesn't get more playing time.
  19. Ortiz looks like a completely different person. He's smiling at the plate, taking close pitches, getting around on the inside fastball and taking the ball the other way when he's pitched outside.
