  2. Because we have enough players starting with B already.
  3. It's a shame Pedro isn't still around to drill this bitch's ass.
  4. "In the heat of the moment and a desire to protect my teammates, I punched two guys who were lying prone on the ground."
  5. Appeals of suspensions should be held immediately - nowadays we've got things like conference calls and everything.
  6. The realistic view is we're not winning the World Series. In fact, making the playoffs at all is an accomplishment given how the team started and how inconsistent it's been.
  7. ESPN is truly pathetic.
  8. Historically, Sale doesn't pitch well in Sept, and he's leading the majors in workload.
  9. I'd say Price giving us nothing is huge, and it is, but it's not like we could count on him in the playoffs anyway.
  10. In case of emergency, break glass https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA200505280.shtml
  11. Doesn't mean we should make it easier for them.
  12. Thanks Sox for breathing life into the Yankees playoff hopes, you miserable bunch of cancer.
  13. & of course, in the blue corner, Severino is working on a 2 hitter. f*** everything.
  14. f*** baseball. f*** life. f*** the universe. f*** the Big Bang.
  15. Whoever you are, leave immediately and let Thunder back on the computer.
  16. While I think this roster has serious flaws, not everyone can be the 2017 Dodgers.
  17. Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer Red Sox set rotation to get Chris Sale vs. Yankees three times in four weeks. He will go winless in those starts. Sale is done after 109 pitches in 4-1/3 innings tonight. In last three starts vs. Yanks, he gave up eight runs in 18-1/3 innings (3.93 ERA).
  18. You won't get me to set foot in the place just on principle.
  19. Very, very true.
  20. I'm sure there's someone nuts enough to go to $35m/year - but for how long?
  21. You and me both.
  22. Because either they think he costs players and then opts out, or he doesn't opt out and they're on the hook for a bazillion dollars. I don't think there's a reasonable way to acquire Stanton, you really should be looking elsewhere for a more cost-efficient option.
  23. At the end of the day this still comes back to asset management. If Stanton costs you players, it's a bad deal. If he costs you just money, is it workable as % of the payroll? In business, companies do not invest too much in one area or market, to mitigate risk. This should be no different.
  24. If he opts out, he's 30 years old and is leaving at least $218 mil on the table. Are the odds that good that he gets a deal that pays more than that? Is anyone giving him another 10 years? $30mil x 7 is less than he's walking away.
