Sale is very appealing for me as a closer. But that means taking $100M less on his next contract. He won't do that.

Indeed. I wonder if the Yankees will be on Grienke without giving up much to take on that most of that salary. He only got 3 years left so and coming off 2 solid year. 3/89.5M with Dbacks taking on 15M. Give the Yankees a front rotation starter without those extravagant 5-6 years term.

Being contender and the draft system is handcuffed to hurt us. The IFA is not what it once were with the caps in place. We also don't get 2 high picks for a once Type A free agent like Kimbrel anymore. We could gotten as high as the 11th Pick under the old system. We get a pick after the 4th round (in the 130th+ range) for Kimbrel.

Or it could be a steal. We need a high end performer if Sale walk, Eovaldi has high end stuff. Both has durable issues. Sale would command a monster deal to retain ($200M). I think bringing back eovaldi is a no brainer.

JDM didn't make the final 3. Ramirez play in a trash division and was sucking up in the 2nd half (.218/.366/.427). JD wasn't winning with Betts and Trout being the finalists anyway, but I wouldn't place Ramirez in the top 3.
