There is absolutely no way Salty is plan A nor plan B. What if the starting catcher gets hurt, Salty isn't ready nor capable of a fulltime job in that case. Buck did throw out runners quite well. But this staff is pretty slow from the stretch.

Ramirez been lights out for SF. Maybe he had low self esteem here. The manager just didn't put him in important situations. Once in a blue-moon where Bard had work 6 of out the last 8 games he gets pick on to pitch and just gone too long without pitching to be effective. Delcarmen was beyond hope. It's mechanical. He can't repeat his delivery. Can't throw his fastball with that armslot. Wagner wanted to get 400 'saves'. Papelbon blows HUGE games. If he had gotten a few lessBS and the clown 3B coach didn't send runners to died we'd be the division champs.

Dunn is an interesting case. We will not lose our 1st rounder by signing him. In the case they don't bring back Beltre, Dunn could play 1B then transition to DH.
