  1. So Madson sign for 3.5M with Angels, f*** you Ben.
  2. As far as our pitching is concern... I think we'll get as follow Lester - 200 inning Buchholz - 150+ Doubront - 150 + Lackey - 150 + (this guy had more time off thanks to both off-season when he had TJS and his 'rehab' off-season) FA - 100+ That's a lot of innings where the slack need to pick up. Both Doubront and Buchholz has a ton of injuries every year to be counted on. I would be willing to deal one of them for Alex Gordon from the Royals if KC put him up for trade. There is clearly a need to get a horse in the rotation. The Phillies might need to part one of their older aces if it wants to sign Bourne or Upton. In that case I would ask about Halladay or Lee. Probably the former as he's my favorite starter in baseball. And under contract just 1 more year. He's got the right attitude and work ethics to succeed here. I think he will be an effective starter to his late 30's. As far as depth in the system, I think it's better with Webster and De La Rosa in AAA by mid-season. I expect both to make some impact to this club with their calls up. Kinda like Tazawa did in 2009, made 4 spot starts, beating the Tigers and Yankees. We'll certainly take a few starts like that from them both.
  3. I would not want Napoli at $52M.
  4. V-Mart is better than Napoli by a wide margin as a hitter.
  5. You might want to check what Jackson done the last 3 year. He's been around 105-110ERA+ and 200 innings average.
  6. Edwin Jackson might be a good pick up if he goes for less than 50M.
  7. Those are early losses that the starters need to eat innings. We're talking about starters from 1-5 that made the bullpen toss the 2nd highest amount of innings in the AL. They have plenty of trouble making it out of the 6 inning in winnable games. Buchholz is a culprit of this team pitching problem. He missed too many starts. This challenged the little depth the system has. Guys like Cook, Stewart, etc get to make those starts in his place and they lose games in the 1st or 2nd inning. This team need a real horse in the rotation (like Halladay).
  8. -1.2WAR last season. he's awful.
  9. Kuroda makes zero sense for the 2013 Red Sox. He made a ton of sense last off-season.
  10. Getting out of Texas may help Hamilton preserved his career. He average just around 130 games the last 3 year there. Who thought it was a good idea to built that ballpark without a roof?
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/boston-red-sox-top-15-prospects-2012-13/ And the end of season ranking. Webster, Cecchini, Owens, Swihart, Workman stock are up. Iggy are down.
  12. You wonder why the team hasn't been force to move to Charlotte or another city. Baseball and Florida don't mix.
  13. Well looks like our owners are mailing it in for 2013. To even sniff the 2nd WC they need to get a premium bat to replace Gonzalez (Hamilton). 2 more above average bat in the OF (Ross/Hairston). and spend on a starter. That's a long laundry list.
  14. They have over $100M to go to match last year's payroll. They should able to get a few 'can't miss' players if there's such out there.
  15. Payroll is already around $90M+ after arbitration without 2OF and SP.
  16. LMAO Loria blowing off reporters. This guy is a real piece of work. What a jerk.
  17. That's what Crawford thought as well..$142M later he was smiling inside.
  18. ^http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/images/photos/000/942/487/92116320.jpg.9250_crop_650x440.jpg?1272077121
  19. Jays gave up very little. They must taken on 90% of the salaries.
  20. It wouldn't be Doubront though. He shown he can get hitters out and had a high K/9. He's lefty too. He just need consistency. Throwing strikes can evade him for an inning and he blows up. I would deal Lackey back to the Angels if they take him. Or send him to the NL west (SD?). The Angels need a couple of starters. They either have to get Grienke or Sanchez or get left with just Weaver and Wilson.
  21. unless they trade Lackey or someone, they have 1 SP spot to fill.
  22. Scott Lauber ‏@ScottLauber Cherington said he expects top prospect Xander Bogaerts to be invited to major league camp, but also to start 2013 season in minors #RedSox Rob Bradford ‏@bradfo Really good outing by @anthony_ranaudo in Puerto Rico opener tonight: 3IP, no hits, 3Ks Ranaudo touches 94MPH on the gun. Bryce Brentz's AFL: .327 .397 .500
