    I ran it in 2008. It was soooo cold, the starting temperature was 22 degrees. Not one of my better races haha.

    I just got back from the Boston Marathon. My first time going out there, and as a marathoner, I couldn't believe how crazy it is, even in the suburbs. I ran Philadelphia, which runs right through the city, and it had nowhere the kind of crowd support. I ended up walking by a guy with a radio tuned to WEEI, and I stood ten feet away from him for a while. I've decided I'm definitely running it next year.

    In 2010-- Start 1- 4.2 IP, 7 R, 10 base runners Start 2- 5.1 IP, 5 R, 8 base runners Start 3-- 7 IP, 0 R, 3 base runners Start 4-- 4.2 IP, 7 R, 12 base runners Start 5-- 8 IP, 0 R, 5 base runners. What we've seen from Dice-k... that's just who he is. Inconsistent, painful as hell to watch, but every now and then he'll pitch a gem. I think after a shameful showing last week, he might have a good start this week.

    As scared as I am of Okajima pitching, getting Doubront ready to start is more important in the long run.

    This team will need a replacement for Drew eventually. Kalish only had a month in AAA-- now he has time to hone his skills before facing the toughest division in baseball. If you look at the free agent market after 2011, there really aren't any great options-- Dejesus, Ludwick, Ordonez, Beltran, Derosa. It is not a pretty group. Crawford sucks now. Its completely true. But they locked him up long term because he is a young player who is healthy, and can be a 6 WAR guy, and there is no one of that quality even close coming through free agency next year. And Youk... this is a guy who is STILL getting on at a .424 clip which means one thing. He's still a very dangerous hitter. Pitchers are going that far to pitch around him, and when they aren't, he's hitting the ball hard, but right at players. Its not like he's getting a lot of weak groundouts, he has just been a bit unlucky.

    I said this in another thread... but if you look at Dice-k's track record, it seems like he'll go out and pitch a few stinkers for a while, and then every now and then he'll toss a gem. I think he's about due.

    That's something that worries me a lot about this series. The NBA clearly likes to push its superstars--especially those in big markets-- and will do whatever it can to make sure they win. Whether that's foul calls, or whatever. The Celtics are on their way down, and don't present anywhere as much future revenue as this Knicks team.

    The Sox have had a frustrating start to the season, it happens.

    Lester was throwing stuff around in the clubhouse. I don't get why-- it is Lowrie's first on the season, he's up 5, pitched well, and is in line for a win. Hard to be angry about that.
