  1. Is there really any amount of money that you could pay the Yankees to throw a playoff series to the Red Sox? I'm sure if it there was someone would have tried it
  2. If you went through the offense, you'd realize that almost everyone on this team missed serious time in 2010, had some kind of injury they fought through, or are adjusting to a new team. Ortiz, McDonald, and Drew are the only three that don't fall in those categories, and yes, that includes the bench. Throw in a pile of elite lefties like Price, Sabathia, Gonzalez, Anderson, Wilson, and it certainly makes sense. And the pitching staff? They have a new pitching coach, and a new catcher. Buchholz had a new contract to worry about. It was a perfect storm for a putrid start. They're winning now, so get over it.
  3. The shaman of the mojo gods has spoken!
  4. What the heck are they doing with the back end of the bullpen? First they call up BOTH Aceves and Doubront, which messes up getting them stretched out, and now they call them BOTH back down, for two 5+ ERA guys. All while refusing to touch Wakefield.
  5. He had an off year in 2010. He's done extremely well against the Sox in prior starts. He's no pushover, and I'm hoping we don't lose a quality Lester start on him.
  6. I had actually mentioned that earlier... but now that I think about it, we had a 40% chance of saying either "We're lucky to be missing Weaver" OR "We're lucky to be missing Haren"
  7. So maybe I rounded a little bit more when doing the math...
  8. Scutaro is used to being a utility guy. Why not let him have the spot starts?
  9. Wow, just wow.
  10. Dejesus, that was beautiful.
  11. In the last 5 games, Boston starters have not given up more than 1 run with an ERA of 1.12. Hell, if you count the two decent games before that, in the last 7 games Boston starters have an ERA of 2.07. Lester and Beckett are pitching the next two games. I don't know about anyone else, but I think this rotation could be pretty good.
  12. That was the umpire who no-called the balk, or atleast that's what it said on WEEI.
  13. JD Drew with his best Lowrie impression.
  14. You know... he won Pac-10 triple crown in college... I wonder...
  15. Is it too early for an MVP chant?
  16. Wow. Seriously, Lowrie cannot be human.
  17. How is Buch throwing today? Its so hard to tell by the box score, especially since this is Oakland...
  18. Wait, did Crawford just get an RBI?
  19. Anyone have a good online stream for radio? I skimmed the thread about this, but it seemed like most of them were day-by-day websites.
  20. Abraham also mentioned he asked that question to some higher ups and didn't really get an answer. He sounded like it was a possibility, and also that San Francisco's pitching staff was not happy to see him go.
  21. Peter Abraham mentioned today that if the Sox call up a catcher, Federowicz is probably first on the list. Good arm, good play calling, but he'll probably only hit a little bit better than Salty.
  22. All I want to do is listen to his voice. What a sexy beast.
