  2. Home runs isn't a big deal with Vazquez because he strikes a lot of guys out and he doesn't walk guys...
  3. He was an All-Star in the first half, had arms problems in the 2nd half. By the way, check out Josh Becket's first year numbers in Boston.
  4. Vazquez is pretty much a lock for 200 innings, 200 strike outs (which you need in Yankee Stadium), less than 2 walks every 9 innings, and 12-15 wins. Who cares what his ERA (my guess 4.20ish) or whatever stat is as a 4th starter, at the end of the day this guys to be eating some valuable innings and winning ball games. Solid solid solid move.
  5. Great move by the Yankees. Sox still have a slight edge in the rotation, but the Yankees have a better lineup and bullpen, and overall, a better team.
  6. Yankees are so set up to sign Cliff Lee next offseason. Coming off the books: Andy Pettitte: $11.75 Javier Vazquez: $11.5
  7. Vazquez is their #4 LHP Sabathia RHP Burnett LHP Pettitte RHP Vazquez RHP Chamberlain/Hughes

  9. These posts about Cervelli and Molina are hilarious. Not that it really matters much, but Cervelli is a better player. He can do anything Molina can do on defense, if you watched the guy play, you would know that. Plus he runs better and is a better hitter. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2009/06/new_york_yankees_backup_catche.html http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/09/as-cervelli-heads-to-minors-posada-appreciates-his-work/
  10. Ummmm.... CAREER OPS+ Nick Johnson- 125 Curtis Granderson- 113 (^ will likely go up in Yankee Stadium) Hideki Matsui- 124 Johnny Damon- 105 (^ will likely go down outside of Yankee Stadium)
  11. OMG THE YANEKES BACKUP CATCHER NEXT YEAR MAY NOT BE AS GOOD AS JOSE MOLINA! OMG! WE HAVE NO SHOT!
  12. First of all. Who gives a s*** about Wang (we won the division and the World Series without him) or Burney, Coke, and Molina. (these 3 are easily replaced) All that matters is we replaced Damon/Matsui with Granderson/Johnson. We we can make a valid argument that we improved ourselves with those moves.
  13. It's true. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/nl/giants/2009-09-21-villalona-murder-charge_N.htm
  14. Red Sox fans interested in Adrian Beltre?
  15. It's close. Cabrera has a better track record, but Gonzalez is getting better and better.
  16. Cabrera has a dynamite bat. Great average, high OBP, power. It's close between them. They are neck and neck, but I'll take Gonzalez because of the glove, and because of Cabrera's off the field issues. But I will say, I would like to see Gonzalez repeat what he did last season. He's obviously gotten better and better the last 3 seasons, but I would like to see him put up another ELITE season before I would give him the big bucks.
  17. I would argue that. 2009: Gonzalez - 166 OPS+ Cabrera- 142 OPS+ Plus far better defense at 1st.

  19. You people are nuts. Buchholz has proved nothing yet. He's just as much as a question mark as Chamberlain. PS. This forum blows ball. You f***ers hijacked a Nick Johnson signing thread into this ********? This thead is 11 pages of ******** from both sides.
