  1. Yeah I agree, there starting rotation is full of question marks.
  2. Yankees agree to four-year, $36M deal with Andrew Miller If they sign Robertson too they'll have one of best bullpens in baseball with Betances, Miller and Robertson.
  3. Markakis to the Braves for 4/45
  4. If the Sox don't resign Lester trading him last season will have been a big mistake. By trading him they eliminated the high draft pick they would've recieved if had signed else where, making other teams much more likely to throw additional money Lester's way instead of going after Scherzer or Shields.
  5. Lester is meeting with the Giants next week though, they'll probably offer more than 130.
  6. I agree 100 mill is bit high but this guy has shown a quick learning curve and a lot of maturity in a short time. Compare him to other third basemen in MLB and it's pretty easy to see he has quickly become one of the best at his position. With 3B not as strong a position in MLB as it has been historically, locking up one of the best at the position is a no-brainer.
  7. $100M for 7 years of Seager > $100M for 5 years of Sandoval Seager's numbers have been trending up, Sandoval's numbers have been trending down... I'd much rather have Seager than Sandoval going forward.
  8. I think he'd be a great signing, considering the lack of wear on his arm, he didn't reach 1,230 innings until he was 29, compared to 26 for Sabathia, and 24 by Tanaka. Among the top free-agent pitchers, Scherzer has thrown by far the fewest pitches, with 20,954, to 26,321 for Lester, and 29,461 for Shields.
  9. Giants Win! Now Sox fan's can't gloat about being the "only team with 3 championships this century"
  10. is it because both the Giants and Cardinals have won two WS's in the last decade while it's been nearly three decade's since the Royal's won their one and only or even been in the playoff's since then? That's my reasoning at least.
  11. Sox fans gave Jeter a nice ovation, seemed to be almost all cheers
  12. Big spot with Jeter at bat, game tied, bases loaded, 1 out.
  13. I think it'd be fitting for his last game to be at Yankee Stadium, just as Mariano's final appearance was at home.
  14. He avoided prosecution because they gave him plea deal, one-year pretrial diversion program that involves counseling.
  15. NFL has suspened him indefinitely, he won't be signing anywhere.
  16. Jon Heyman reports that the Giants will acquire Peavy from the Red Sox for minor league pitchers.
  17. None of those players were shortstops, it's like comparing apples and oranges. How many shortstops have won an MVP or lead the league in HR, RBI, Batting Average, Slugging percentage or on base percentage?
  18. Jeff Samardzija
  19. Regardless, losing Ellsbury was a major loss.
  20. Pineda may also be facing a 8 game suspension now like Joel Peralta received in 2012 for using it.
  21. Agreed, he's pretty dumb for making it that obvious.
  22. 1.) Pine tar is just used to get a better grip on the baseball, something some batters appreciate as it means pitchers will be less wild and less likely to hit batters. 2.)Pine tar does not alter the behavior of the ball the way Vaseline (i.e. spitballs) does. 3.)Everybody is doing it
  23. Let's hope Lester isn't using anything again. http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2013/1024/mlb_g_lesterj2_300x300.jpg
