  1. I'm in the kitchen most of the day, cranking up music, having about 15 people over here, if not more. Mashed taters, turkey, homemade dinner rolls, whatever the rest of the family brings, and I still have to make dessert. Love Thanksgiving, it's a great time, possibly my favorite holiday.
  2. Self-description.
  3. So, ORS, do you keep track of the FO through GameDay too?
  4. Well, just a little.
  5. Eh, I don't expect anyone but J_E, Dipre, and maybe diony or something to get the humor of that site. And no, that is not me, I am not Boxxy, you see.

    NL MVP

I'm glad Cargo didn't get votes. Tulo was the better player by far, while Cargo appeared to be aided heavily by Coors Field (he was pretty mediocre on the road, while he was pretty much a deity at Coors). Votto deserved it though, I thought he'd walk away with it, but I expected Pujols to get a few more votes.
  12. Felix has to face the Rangers, so your point goes both ways. In fact, I find it all the more impressive that he didn't get discouraged from one of the worst offensive teams of our time, and continued to go out and shut down the opposition. Also, if what you say is true, then what about Cliff Lee's amazing Cy Young year? How about Zack Grienke's season from last year? Their teams didn't give them a chance to play in meaningful games because they were so abysmal. I disagree with you totally, because the best pitcher shouldn't be decided on whether or not his team was any good. It's not the Most Valuable award for a reason, bc it's not value-based, it has nothing to do with the team getting into the postseason. But, to each their own.
  13. Oh, yeah, he got MEGA snubbed in that one. I have no idea how Zito got that one, considering Pedro hit 20 wins, had the best ERA, most Ks, best WHIP, etc etc. In Fenway Park too. That's definitely one of the big snubs. He didn't even lack in W-L, he just flat out got robbed.
  14. Deserved it, CC was not even close to being as dominant, but I feared he'd win it based on history, which favors win-loss records, and disregards advanced stats, or even simpler stats like ERA. They always liked to pick the guy with the best record. Remember a couple of times, I think 2004 RJ went like 14-14 (on a team that lost 111 games, btw) and IMO definitely should have won the award. And the year Colon won his Cy Young, where Santana should have won it, but only won 16 games to Colon's 21.

    2010 ROY

Posey was the wrong choice, the playoffs have their own awards for a reason, and this is why. They should leave postseason out of it. Hayward was statistically better. You can credit Posey's padded stats to one month where he hit over .400, the rest of his months being what most would consider pretty mediocre-to-bad. You can factor in that Posey is a catcher all you want, but the ROY is not a value award.
  16. McCarver is the Captain amongst Captain Obviouses. In the dictionary, next to obvious, they should just have a few Tim McCarver quotes. Morgan isn't as bad as McCarver or Buck, I actually didn't really get what all the hate for the man was about. He just didn't seem like he was in league with McCarver and Buck.
  17. Jeter is a bawss in the field, he gotz tha mad skillz dude.
  18. Mark Sanchez is absolutely terrible. The guy doesn't throw interceptions or fumble as much, but he's still ridiculously inaccurate, and can kill drives by himself, even with the receiving talent he has around him. Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford are probably the most skilled, but Matt Ryan has Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White to throw to, with Michael Turner at RB who is able to open up the pass attack. Tebow could be good if he fixed a few things, otherwise I doubt he's very effective at the professional level, and Flacco is sort of like Ryan right now in that he has very good weapons around him. I'm going to take a chance here and say they get Bradford some guys to throw to, and go Bradford>Ryan>Flacco>Stafford>Sanchez>Tebow.
