Did he "leave" or get fired? I'm thinking the FO took pity on him and told him to announce him leaving instead of being publicly fired and disgraced. Anyhow, this alone will benefit them. Francona clearly lost his edge.

I like Michael Kay. For the most part he's neutral when doing a broadcast. He doesn't act like he just got punched in the gut when oponents score on the Yanks.

Poor Detroit got stuck with the Yankees. They may get swept. Texas is a much better match-up for them. At least Pujols and the Cardinalds made it in. That is the only reason why I'll be watching.

He was probably told he would not be returning to the Red Sox for quite some time. I'm sure.

Umm schooling time.. 2008-2011 The Rays are 42 and 30 against the Sox with 72 games played from 08 till now. 24 and 12 at home. The beating that Red Sox have taken from the Rays have progressively gotten worse by the year. 2008- 10-8 2009- 9-9 2010- 11-7 2011- 12-6 -- Do not let fandom overtake the obvious. Comparing a team conviniently making it to favor your own team is dumb. That wasn't even the point so bringing stats that go a decade back is laughable on your part. I wasn't arguing past accomplishments by the Red Sox against an inferior then Rays team. A comparison only works with both teams being equally good. Forget the past, this is the present and the stats dont lie. Rays have the Sox number since their overhaul.
