  1. I was away from a TV how did the Red Sox get there run?
  2. Why would Bard be sent down? He has been one of the most important set up men we have had this year and brought a huge lift. Thats the last guy I expect. I think it will be Penny who gets released because we can't trade him and wont go to the minors.
  3. I wonder what the roster move will be.
  4. 1:31 p.m. update: A major league source told the Globe's Tony Massarotti that the Red Sox and Mets have agreed in principle on a deal that would bring Wagner to Boston for two players to be named later. The Red Sox will not pick up Wagner's $8 million option for 2010 but will retain the right to offer Wagner arbitration, meaning they would get two compensatory draft
  5. They said on WEEI two "mid level guys".. Maybe a guy like Jason Place and another smaller prospect.
  6. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/08/red-sox-trying-to-acquire-wagner-at-last-minute.html Newsday's David Lennon hears that, while no deal is complete, the Mets and Red Sox could agree on one "soon." Looks like this could go down.
  7. Welcome to the Sox forum.
  8. Where are you hearing this from? MLBTR is reporting that he will not waive his no trade clause due too healthy corcerns. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/08/wagner-blocked-deal-because-of-health-concern.html
  9. An unknown team claimed Brad Penny earlier in the month, only to see the Red Sox pull him back, sources tell WEEI.com's Rob Bradford. The window for the Red Sox to deal Penny to the claiming team has passed, so they won't be able to trade him at all. Penny, who lost his rotation spot, makes just $5MM plus incentives, so he's a more affordable option than Doug Davis or Jon Garland, but the Red Sox wanted more than salary relief or they would have handed Penny over. He isn't likely to net the Red Sox any compensation picks, since he doesn't project to be a Type B free agent. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com
  10. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9...,-stays-in-N.Y If this true, it would have been nice to add him to the bullpen, but if it's not to be, it's not to be. A pitcher like Wagner has earned the right to decide how he spends the remainder of his career.
  11. Nice job by Ramon Ramirez so far..
  12. Mike Lowell has been having one hell of a player this year for us.
  13. Thats the night for Buchholz..
  14. BJust get through this inning.
  15. What are you drunk on?
  16. This is horrendous of how this team holds runners.
  17. Damnit right at him.
  18. Halladay getting lit up like a christmas tree again..
