  1. The Red Sox today recalled righthanded pitcher Marcus McBeth from Pawtucket and optioned righthanded pitcher Junichi Tazawa to the Rookie-Level Gulf Coast League Red Sox. McBeth, 29, had a stint with the Red Sox earlier this season, July 31 through Aug. 1, though he did not appear in a game. He is 2-2 with three saves and a 2.70 ERA in 42 games (one start) for the PawSox this year. Originally selected by Oakland in the fourth round of the 2001 Draft, McBeth made all 23 of his career Major League appearances for Cincinnati in 2007, going 3-2 with a 5.95 ERA. Tazawa, 23, went 2-3 with a 6.65 ERA in five games (four starts) for Boston. He is in his first professional season after signing with the Red Sox as an amateur free agent on Dec. 11, 2008. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/
  2. Carter was in the deal for Wagner.
  3. Good point... You have 3 shortstops you could pinch A Gon and Lowrie in key situations and let guys like Baldelli and Lowell hit.
  4. Who do you guys think get called up? Im going to say Michael Bowden, Marcus Mcbeth, Dice K,Aron Bates,Kotteras,Byrd,Anderson,Bailey and Reddick. I know its a lot but it will give us great depth in the pen and a chance not too burn this guys out for the postseason and some good power off the bench.
  5. Frankly I'm not surprised, he was useful while Wakefield was rehabbing and before Buchholz came around in the majors, with DiceK closer and closer to a return it was a likely scenario. Wagner > Penny, Wakefield, Daisuke, Buchholz > Penny. I wish we were in the position to trade him back when he did have some trade value but with the amount on injuries to the rotation we couldn't afford to trade him.
  6. Yeah you get a great view of the bullpens and Center Field but a horrible look at Home Plate. You should have a good time though. Soak in the Fenway expierence.
  7. For all this crap he has gone through he is back and back big.
  8. 9. 9-2 Yankees bottom of the 7th so this is a chance to gain some ground in the wild card.
  10. We should have brought in Bard or Okijima. Come on Francona.
  11. Ramon Ramirez coming in. I wonder if Bard is closing tonight if we get to that point.
  12. Got him!! That should be the night for him.
  13. Damn it Youk, You would have him..
  14. Another quick inning... He looks good early.
