  1. quit trying to compare us to the Yankees, they are 2 seperate teams with 2 seperate styles. did John Henry shoot your dog or something? its not like we are fighting the Os for last place, we are a game behind in the division so we obviously cant be as awful as you think we are.
  2. we are talking baseball and im sorry you have such a hard-on for the yankees but we arent the yankees, Im sorry we havent picked up f***in Mauer but Mauer isnt what this team needs, it would be a great addition but you dont need 12 All-Stars to win a WS.
  3. Manny ran himself out, and it was time for Nomar to go, get over it none of them are here now and its not because of some ******* in the orginization.
  4. i think that the rays have proven that $ does not necisarrily equal success we have been frugal and it has paid off thus far so if we can get good deals to balance a team out why spend big bucks, the Yankees spend alot but that hasnt given them a WS every year so why dont you chill out btw Penny has been great for what we spent for him and we lost very little in picking up Saito and Smoltz and smoltz has barely had any starts give him a bit of time...
  5. first of all he is a .275 hitter Career he has never hit .250 or less since he got brought up second of all we arent going to make a Mark Teixeria type move, LaRoche cost very little has a good upside and a chance to do a great job in the lineup plus we still have plenty of trading chips left to make another trade if we need to, all we need is the offense to start up again i do not believe that Drew, Bay, Ortiz, and Youk all stay cold for the rest of the season. we have a good team without making a big deal no reason to break the baank for a big move.
  6. .247 so far this year, he is a career .275 hitter he has big 2nd halfs that should bring up his avg. plus he will have better hitters around him here in boston so that should improve his numbers. you can choose to see a negative but LaRoche>Kotsay.
  7. LaRoche definitely adds a positive impact, we will just see how big of an impact it is...
  8. http://pittpeas.mlblogs.com/laroche.jpg lol
  9. im gonna go with you on this one i think its a very good deal, especially since the sox have plenty of trading chips left if they feel the need to make another move
  10. congratulations, you have just etched a piece of red sox history into the most reliable information center on the net;)
  11. and we didnt sell the farm to get him so we could always make another deal, not likely but i wouldnt dismiss the posibility.
  12. it all depends on just how well he does for the rest of this season, maybe he lights up in the sox lineup.
  13. agreed there is a distinct difference in the 2
  14. i hope those prospects are infact the ones...itd be a good deal if thats the truth
  15. .902 OPS in the second half, some insurance in our corner infields, his BA isnt great but he should bat like .280 for this second half to even out to his career numbers i think its an excellent acquisition.
  16. good news indeed...happy Birthday Chief.
  17. that IS what we need...he isnt A Gonzo but im just glad we made a move...
  18. well it looks like this is more accurate http://fantasy411.mlblogs.com/t1_laroche_wi.jpg
  19. apparently they were drinking buddies in Pitt. is this a move to apease Bay and make us better at the same time? they are both FA at the end of this year however.
  20. if its Bard i think we got robbed...
  21. i think its ridiculous to hold Bay up to the same standards as Manny, one of the best right handed hitters of all time and even if you do Bay has held up better than almost anyone could in that spot.
  22. Wake goin on the DL could honestly point to the sox making a move of some sort, i dunno maybe Wake is really hurt but i see it as a way to rest Wake and at the same time show case Buscholtz.
